Greetings.
This is the Author speaking to you, and I am here to explain why I had changed Etienne's appearance for this story and how it came to be.
The main reason behind this is to illustrate how he would look like if the Reverend Wilbert Vere Awdry would have wrote him. Since Etienne is a character created for Thomas & Friends, he never appeared in the Railway Series, but I digress. I gave Etienne his real-world livery and his historic connections on being one of the fastest locomotives in the world.
To add to this, I created several original characters for the French electric to interact with. One is based on an SNCF Class 241A, while the other one is based on an American-built SNCF Class 141P. Both of which are part of the cast of main characters featured in this story. Also, the entire saga takes place years before the events of The Great Race.
