From a young age, Charlie Campbell learned that, if there was one thing she loved to do in life, it was to make people smile; to make them forget about any trouble that might be ailing them, if only for an hour or two. As she grew up, this dream translated to long hours working odd jobs around town to make ends meet, though she never once doubted she was on the right track, even if it took a little longer than she'd hoped to get there.
However, when the opportunity arises for Charlie to relocate to Los Angeles to help keep an eye on her best friend's son, she jumps at the opportunity to finally seize the chance to make something of her life, far away from the place they both once called home. Although, life with the newest member of LA's finest, the 118, might just come with more than she bargained for, including a benched member of the team needing a change of pace of his own after one tragic night left him out of commision for far longer than he anticipated.
It's a curious thing, time, but one thread of gold might be tying these two together in more ways than they could've imagined.
