"you plan on changing into the t-shirt anytime soon?" robby asked, wanting to move from that conversation.

gioia shook her head. "you won't catch me wearing it and i can't believe you are. honestly? i'm completely fine with being left out."

"if you say so." robby laughed.

"they're going to el hoyo verde." johnny told the two in the back.

robby quickly grabbed his phone and searched for the place on google maps. gioia peered over his shoulder, her eyes on the screen as it loaded.

"back the way we came." robby announced.

"we're on our way." johnny told carmen.

"look at this mma grab-ass bullshit." johnny scoffed as the three stepped into the hidden fight club. "hector the salazar, you know him?"

the man replied in spanish and johnny brushed him off, wanting to find someone who spoke english. gioia sighed as she and robby stalked behind the man. after endless begging, convincing and even some threats being thrown in, gioia was wearing the navy blue fbi t-shirt.

hers was much smaller than the others, making her assume her dad picked it for her as he probably didn't know her size. he didn't even know her allergies. so, the shirt that she didn't even want to wear didn't even fit her. it was a little too snug, hugging her upper half completely.

"necesito hombre." johnny ordered, "hector the salazar."

the man simply grunted in return, continuing his air punches. fred had volunteered himself to stay with the vehicle, not wanting to risk it getting towed again.

"his name is just hector salazar." gioia pointed out to him.

"your point?" johnny asked.

she shrugged. "i mean, it's like me calling you johnny the lawrence. or you robby the keene."

johnny thought for a second. "no, that doesn't flow like hector's does."

"you know, you should really stop throwing his name around." robby warned his dad, again.

"like i said before shake the tree, get the apple or just climb the tree." johnny informed.

"still don't know what that means." robby admitted.

"that's because it doesn't mean anything." gioia stated. "i'd know. i'm a lover of puns and imagery,"

the three turned into the main room, right where the cage was. from the balcony, hector salazar could see the three enter. but he hadn't noticed that the girl standing in the middle of them was the same blonde girl he had seen on miguel diaz's phone just then when he was inspecting it.

maybe if the lighting wasn't so luminous, or if he wasn't so focused on the three 'gringos' on the ground floor being with associated the fbi, hector would've recognised her and realised miguel was not alone in mexico.

instead, he wanted him and miguel to evacuate. "hey, let's get out of here."

gioia was so enthralled by the bright lights, the loud music, the announcer speaking into the microphone in spanish, and the literal cage that she hadn't spotted her best friend up on the balcony.
