"Dad just let him stay!" Rafe, my mom, and I were talking to my mom about Rafe staying with us for a little. And us dating had slipped out.
"No why should i? You know who his father is!" he yelled back.
"Well you don't get to hate him because of his dad!" i said
"Hey i already let you hangout with Sarah Cameron." he said
"Dad stop!" i said
"Young lady you cannot just invite someone to live with us." he said
"Dad he has NO ONE! You know how it feels dad, you of all people!" When my parents first got together my grandparents were pissed. They moved onto the mainland when my parents were 21. My dad hated his dad.
"Don't Summer!"
"What dad? you know how it feels to be hated by your dad!" i paused. "At least you had grandma, he only has me!" i said
"Summer why should i let him stay?" he said
"BECAUSE I LOVE HIM!" I yelled. I never told Rafe i loved him.
"You love him?" my dad said sitting down.
"Yes i do. I promise you i wouldn't be asking you for this if it weren't Important." i said sitting next to him.
"You really care about him, huh?" he said
"Yes i do. I love him." i said looking at Rafe.
"I love you." Rafe said walking towards me and hugging me.
"James come on." my mother said.
"Nat, you know how i feel about this stuff." my dad said. My mom walked over to him and gave him a kiss and whispered something in his ear.
"Okay i will let you stay on two conditions."
"Yes anything." i said.
"Rafe has to get a job as soon as he can and please no sleeping together." my dad said.
"Yes dad anything. I promise we won't let you down." i said giving him a hug.
"Thank you sir." Rafe said shaking his hand.
"Your'e welcome. Do you need help with getting your uh stuff?" my dad asked.
"Uh no i think i will be fine for now." Rafe said.
We discussed the rules and we walked away on top of the world. I was so happy my dad said yes.
"So what do you wanna do?" i said looking at Rafe.
"Well I was thinking we could go on a real date?"
"Yes!" i said laughing. "I can't believe this Rafe. I am so happy." i said kissing him.
"Me too i'm happy too." he said.
"So when are you gonna take me out?" i said.
"Hm i don't know?" he said
"Oh you jerk just tell me. We live together now." i said.
"Well i guess i'm free right now." he said looking at his invisible watch.
"Oh well i have another date right now actually.." i said laughing.
"Really? Who is it?" he said.
"Oh you know the neighbors son. He is really hot." i said.
"Damn i guess we have to reschedule." he said kissing me.
"I guess we do." i said.
"Wanna go to the beach?" he said
"Yes that sounds fun. I can teach you how to surf." i said getting up.
"Okay sure that sounds fun." he said.
"Yay okay i will go get some extra swim shorts from the pool house."
"Okay come on then." he said getting up.
"Rafe thats not how that works." i said.
"Uh i am a professional at surfing!" he said laughing.
"Uh no!" i said laughing
He picked me up and threw me in the water. I came back up and saw him laughing so hard. I think this was the first time i ever saw him laughing this hard.
"Oh i am gonna get you!" i said
"only if your'e fast enough!" he said running out of the water.
"Oh i hate you" i said running after him.
I ran onto the dark, wet sand, lit by the sunset. He ran on to the towel and i ran after him and landed on top of him laughing.
"I hate you!" i said.
"I love you too." he said kissing me softly.
That night I remember how we laughed and had the best time of our lives. I was truly happy
