Jahzara stood in front of her room in satisfaction, finally thinking she did enough.

She had cleaned the bathroom, kitchen, and her room. She usually would clean her room; she thought any normal person would do it weekly.

She went the extra mile just to ask her parents, her mom specifically, if she could take the car.

They would usually let her, setting a curfew, but this time where she planned to take Carmén was an hour away, so she just wanted to make sure.

She had just taken a shower; she knew her parents would let her go out, she just didn't know if they trusted her to go that far with the car.

She had texted Carmén to get ready after she got out the bathroom, so she was going to take her somewhere, even if it wasn't what she planned. She deserved it.

"You finally done cleaning?" Jahmere asked as he walked past her doorway after he took his airpods out

"Yes, not like you would know what thorough cleaning is." Jahzara said

"I do. My room clean." Jahmere said

"Seguro." Jahzara mumbled under her breath

(Sure.)

"You finna ask for something? You even did the bathroom and kitchen without them say anything." Jahmere said as he squinted his eyes

"I am. Quiero sacar a Carmén pero no estoy seguro si me dejarán ir a donde quiero." Jahzara told her brother

(I wanna take Carmén out but I'm not sure if they'll let me go where I want.)

"I woulda went for their room but ok.      All lovey dovey. Aunque estoy seguro de que lo harán. Tú y Carmen lindos o lo que sea." Jahmere said

(I'm sure they will though. You and Carmén cute or whatever.)

"But if I bring up you and Ariellé, I'm wrong." Jahzara said

"Yeah you are." Jahmere said before he walked away

Jahzara heard the door open and walked put her room.

"Hola Mamí. Hi Dad." Jahzara said as she gave them both hugs

"Hola bebé. ¿Tú y tu hermano limpiaron tu habitación?" Isabella asked as she pulled away

(Hi baby. You and your brother cleaned your room?)

"I'on know bou Jah, but I did. And I did the bathroom and the kitchen." Jahzara said

"You want something babygirl, don't you? Cleaning up the house." Her father said, catching on quickly

"Sí. Can I take the car for today?" Jahzara asked

"You don't have to ask for that Zara we trust you." Her mother said

"Oh OK. I just wanted to make sure." Jahzara said

"You going somewhere special or something?" Her father asked, opening the grocery they had just bought, earning a side-eye from Isabella

"Well I wanted to take Carmén out but it's like an hour away. So I didn't want you guys to worry." Jahzara said
