Ayano is no longer born emotionless and empty. She's a girl who suffers from abuse and neglect. She witnessed abuse between her parents, and thus, shut out the world and her feelings. Her parents tried to be supportive, but they were too busy and stressed. She has difficulty opening up about her emotions. When Ayano was in the fourth grade, she met Taro when they were paired up on a group project. Taro talked about his family life, and Ayano said that everything was totally fine. However, he noticed her eyes and encouraged her to open up. She fell in love at that moment.
