It was awful, every aspect of it..those games—i hate highbottom for creating it though dr gaul seems to carry it on every single year..i figured it would've died out by now but the game makers are extremely adamant about keeping the games alive and well
"Lia!! Oh my goodness you look gorgeous! your hair—makeup..the dress! you look so good—i cannot even fathom the fact that you have no boyfriend!" she says as i give her a light smile
The crane girl was a beauty in itself though not very much on the inside towards people who were considered 'lower than her' and by all means did that girl have some high standards, sometimes degrading those around her
Even with the lack of respect towards others—her love for her bestfriend aurelia was undeniable..raised as neighbours and having parents who were also great friends boosted their friendship by a ton even if her attitude wasn't the greatest—arachne was still a kind girl to those who she loved
"stop it! your outfit is stunning! where did you get the lipstick from!" i complimented as we walked up the stairs
As we continued the conversation of our different makeup products we eventually arrive in the main hall of the building meeting with a group of academy students
"can you believe they're going to announce who won the plinth prize today!" festus exclaims as his smile turns into a frown at the sight of felix ravinstill eating with his hand
"god, did your father not teach you any manners?" he scoffs
"i mean—he would if he wasn't so busy..running the country." felix snarkily remarks as festus ignores him and continues to speak as sejanus walks up to us
"wow you finally showed up to the reaping for once!" festus says proud of his little insult
"and you made it to graduation festus, we're both shocked!" sejanus smiles a bright sarcastic smile at him as my eyes widen and i purse my lips trying to hold in a laugh as i see arachne do the same
"that's a snazzy shirt..what is it—tesserae?" arachne takes a sip of her drink
coriolanus looks at his shirt and smirks "hm..that's why it reminds me of the maid bathroom!" he replies
Now i know they do not have a maid—my mother works close with tigris and i know there situation though i would never outright speak on it as in the end it was his business and i had to right to just expose him though i did cringe at his lie
"Spill it sejanus..who won the prize?" arachne starts to speak again
"oh no, i'm not going to ruin my fathers big day..no one really likes him; they just like his money" sejanus turns his head towards my blonde friend "you know what that's like, right arachne?" he raises an eyebrow
Arachne rolls her eyes; I frown at the comment as we both take a seat next to eachother on the benches
I see Dr gaul making her way up on the podium and my smile fades, my dislike for that woman is genuinely unmatched. As the panem anthems tune starts to end dr gauls voice starts to get louder
"How tantalising is it to see all of you students today!"
i cringed—'tantalising?' this woman is not alright
"Welcome! to the 10th annual hunger games—I am head game maker, Dr gaul and please welcome our lovely, dean casca highbottom" She nods over towards him
"This year the plinth prize will not be received on the 4th of july, instead the best performing mentor of this years hunger games will receive the prize."
so whoever's tribute wins would win the plinth prize? goodness this place is messed up..how could you give someone a prize—who first of all didn't do anything their tribute most likely would've killed someone to win and then the mentor receives the prize? I shake my head in disbelief
"ugh..what if i get a girl from one on the runt districts—like 8 or 12?" i hear arachne complain from next to me
I shake my head at her with an annoyed look and she frowns turning away
"Hello, everyone. I will now be pairing every mentor with their tribute. If you don't hear your name..get outta here." he announces into the speaker
"District 1 boy..Livia Cardew ..... hmph funny— district 2 boy..Sejanus plinth" highbottom gives a light chuckle as i cringe in disgust
goodness what is wrong with these people!
"guess you got your pick of the litter." snow remarks as sejanus' nostrils start to flare and his eyes start to water
"you seem to forget—i am apart of that litter." sejanus whispers as i start to listen for when my name comes up
"District 7 boy..Aurelia Vella."
I look up onto the screen..A boy who seemed around my age—maybe a year or two older at most, His name—Treech plastered onto the television, he had brown curly hair tan skin and a hat that he wore..he was kind of cute but i cannot be thinking these thoughts when he's going into the literally hunger games..
"god, guess i'm not getting the plinth prize this year" arachne mutters under he breath
"it's going to be fine..maybe you'll get one of the boys from the other districts—and you have a chance still" i reassure her
She nods as highbottom announces again
"District 10 girl..Arachne Crane" i turn to the girl as her face meets her hands as she sighs
"Ugh! this is so unfair.." she groans annoyed as i frown
"it's fine..she looks strong—she has a chance you just need to speak to her" i say
"yeah..whatever." she says sulking
I turn to my left to see coriolanus start to get quite impatient as his doors tapping the floor..what if highbottom gives him the girl from 12—everyone know highbottom hates coriolanus because of what his father did but i don't think he hates him that much
By the time the district 12 boy was announced, Coriolanus was angry. He looked as if he would kill any of us in a minute..he was basically destined for the 12 girl
"District 12 girl goes to..Coriolanus snow" casca made sure to give him a bright smile as the girl, lucy gray walked up to the stadium but before she could we saw her slip in what seemed to be a snake into a girls dress
I hear some gasp as i smirk to myself..funny. She walks up to the stadium as who im guessing to be district 12's mayor gives the poor girl a heavy smack on the face..goodness leave the girl alone.
"what is her dress. is she a clown?" arachne jokes as some people are puns us give a light chuckle but all i can think about it how i'm supposed to have my first meeting with treech
Should i come with food? yes definitely! well i should try say hi and be nice but what if he doesn't like me? goodness i hope he does..
