I gracefully navigated through the bustling atmosphere of my workplace, seamlessly moving from table to table, expertly attending to patrons' needs by collecting their finished dishes and jotting down their orders with practiced efficiency.

As I made my rounds, my keen eye caught sight of several individuals entering, their clothing dampened by the relentless rain outside. Reacting swiftly, I greeted them with a warm smile and offered assistance.

"Welcome to Sunny! Can I provide you with some towels to dry off?" I inquired, ensuring their comfort despite the inclement weather.

With that task completed, I retrieved an umbrella and stepped out through the back door, the familiar click-clack of my roller blades echoing through the weathered alley as I embarked on my journey to my second job.

With each smooth glide, I navigated the rain-soaked streets, dodging puddles and weaving effortlessly through the evening crowd.

As I approached the dilapidated facade of the hotel where I manned the reception desk, its faded paint and cracked windows exuded a sense of nostalgic charm.

"Good evening, y/n," Sam greeted me warmly, acknowledging my presence with a friendly smile.

"Good evening," I greet, rolling into the compact employee break room. I swiftly change into my uniform before emerging, gliding gracefully to my designated spot behind the desk.

As Sam and I engage in casual conversation for a few minutes, my attention is drawn to a car pulling up outside. A group of men in sharp business suits step out, catching my eye. Their sharp jawlines, handsome features, and well-built physiques were impossible to ignore, adding an air of sophistication to their presence.

Wow...

They look like they don't belong here

"Hello, welcome to Quaint Haven Inn. How may I assist you gentlemen?" I inquire warmly, ready to attend to their needs with hospitality and professionalism.

The man at the forefront shot me a glare that could freeze lava before muttering something unintelligible in a foreign tongue.

Wow this man is scary

"I apologize, sir. I only speak English. However, if you require a room, please indicate how many you need," I responded calmly, despite the simmering anger evident in the man's demeanor.

The man continued to stare, his expression unyielding, before finally holding up three fingers. I maintained my composure, determined to provide courteous service regardless of the customer's disposition.

I adjusted the total and handed him the card machine. He swiped his card and muttered something again in a different language.

"I'm sorry?" I inquired, struggling to decipher his words.

The person behind him stepped forward, clarifying, "He said to show us our rooms."

"Oh, no problem," I assured them, rolling out from behind the desk and gliding towards the elevator. Despite the tension in the air, I made a concerted effort to maintain a friendly demeanor.

As we ascended in the elevator, I pressed the button for their floor. Upon reaching it, I led them to their rooms, my smile unwavering despite their intense scrutiny.

This mans eyes feel like they are glued to my back

"Here we are. If you have any questions, just press zero on the room phone," I informed them cheerfully before rolling away.

The awkwardness of the encounter lingered as the elevator doors closed, their penetrating stares etched into my memory.

As I returned to my desk, I noticed Sam preparing to leave.

"So soon?" I inquired.

"Yeah, gotta go. My roommate says the heating went out," Sam explained hurriedly.

"Alright, take care," I replied, understanding his urgency.

An hour later, as I settled into my chair, the phone rang.

"Hello, welcome to Quaint Haven Inn This is y/n speaking," I answered professionally.

"Hi, I was wondering if this place has a bar," the caller inquired.

"Yes, indeed. It's located on the first floor, right next to the lobby," I informed them.

"Would you be a doll and help us find it?" they requested.

"Certainly, I'll be right there," I agreed.

Letting out a resigned sigh, I rolled my way back to their floor. There, I found two impeccably dressed men waiting outside their door. With a courteous smile, I gestured for them to follow me through the lobby and to the bar, which was open 24/7.

The taller one muttered something again, his voice low and smooth, catching the attention of the bartender.

"Hey, y/n," the bartender greeted me.

"Hey, two new customers," I replied with a nod.

Just as I returned to my station, the bell rang again, signaling another arrival.

Wow this day is busy

"Alright, gotta go," I murmured to myself, rolling back to my desk. There, I found a family waiting, completely drenched from the inclement weather outside.

"Oh my God, I am so sorry for making you wait," I apologized sincerely, my voice filled with genuine regret.

"It's okay," the woman replied, stepping forward. She was completely covered in rain, her clothes clinging to her shivering form. Behind her, the two kids huddled together, also soaked and clearly feeling the chill.
