3RD POV
Jake is sharpening a wood and turning it into a spear while Y/n is beside him. Dozing off like always, the both of them are unaware that a na'vi is observing them, especially Y/n since the human child doesn't have the exopack
"Look, kid...I want you to stay close to me alright? If not, I'm dead by grace," Jake says as he observes his sharp wood
"I'll try not to get lost I guess...what shape is that?" she says as she looks at the stars above
He chuckles. Their small moment broke when they heard some whooping and chattering. Jake quickly moved away to find a substance to light as y/n had her hand at the hilt of her sword. Then the whooping stopped and y/n sharp sense of hearing heard something slink into the tall grass. Then emerged from the brush, was a handful of small black dog-like creatures with six legs and large antennae. They all gathered in a circle around the branch where y/n hung, but they didn't attack and stared at her snarling slightly while y/n gave a glare but also didn't attack
Jake suddenly appeared, the spear now lit like a torch.
"Hey, get away from her!" he shouted, getting the animals' attention.
They all began to snarl and bark at him as he swung the spear at us. As they attacked, some stayed by y/n, Jake swung at us and reached y/n, picking her up by her waist and putting her behind him which she just huff in annoyed because she also want some action, watching as Jake jabbed one with the spear, sticking it with the pointed end, letting out a whine and it ran with the spear. Jake then pulled his knife out and began cutting and jabbing at the ones who attacked
(y/n) shook her head and started to run up to him to help his pathetic butt when an arrow shot through the trees and killed the one on Jake. He looked up confused as a female native jumped out of the trees, attacking the creature. y/n took her sword but didn't unsheathed it as she just skillfully hit the creature without injured them, she give a hard glare at the creatures which made them whimper in fright at the sight of her and they took off.
The female Na'vi hissed and snarled at the retreating animals as they turned back. Jake had a knife on his hand as he looked around in worry they might come back.
The female Na'vi mutters something in her mother tongue as she hiss at the light from the fire. She took the spear in one hand, craning her neck away from the light of the fire and threw it in the stream.
"Wait, don't!" he says but it was too late.
He threw his hands up and went into stream to retrieve the spear when the female na'vi looked over at y/n for a moment as the girl bent to the wounded one. Her face went dull at the sigh of the wound creature, her fingers twitch as she caresses the poor soul head in her eyes. There is something to be let out but her dull face never changes
The creature then looked up at her and saw the pain in its eyes. it whined at her a little and licked her palm before the light died in its eyes. The creature was dead. y/n face went down and her hair covered her faces. The female Na'vi knelt down, putting her hands over the creature before mumbling something to it as Jake walked up.
