Pushing that aside, Y/N grabbed whatever seemed appetizing from the pantry then walked out the door with her bag. The morning breeze pushed a few strands of hair in her face, which she immediately brushed them back behind her ear as she walked.
Eventually, she arrived at the bus stop. Only a few minutes after Y/N walked up, the bus was there. From where she was standing, she could see a blond boy squishing his face on the window with a wide smile. How weird...
'Crazy people are everywhere nowadays...'
Making her way to her usual seat, she was thankful that it wasn't anywhere near the blond boy, but it was right behind the boy she dreaded more than anything else in the world...
Tyler Hernandez, of course.
His sister, Taylor, is okay. More than okay. She's really sweet and friendly. Y/N was just never able to become friends with her due to the overprotective guard dog. That mutt has, and always will be irritating.
Speaking of Taylor, the twin peaked over the back of the seat, and at Y/N. She offered a kind smile and a cheery wave before turning back around before her brother got onto her about even looking at Y/N.
Y/N never understood exactly why her and Tyler didn't get along. They just... Didn't. The first time they met, it was when Y/N wanted to talk to Taylor. He didn't allow that. He's been nothing but protective. It's good to feel the need to protect the people close to you, but that was just a little too much. That must've been what irritated the (h/c) haired teen.

Once the bus finally arrived at the school building, Y/N dashed to the front doors as soon as she was out of the crowded aisle, and out in the chilly wind again.
Before she started to head to her class, she sent Taylor a wave. Then she bolted off. She weaved through the swarm of students all just to get to her first class. And of course, she had that class with the Hernandez she hated. The good thing though, he was on the other side of the class.
'Ah, new seats.' Y/N started to walks through the rows of desks in search of hers, paying no mind to the fact that there were new seats. Until it finally dawned on her... 'If I'm sitting next to that stupid mutt then I'm going to actually implode.'
Thankfully, that wasn't the case. It was actually in the back left corner, next to a window. How nice.
As soon as Y/N sat down, the loud chiming of the school bell rung throughout the halls. The twins weren't in the class yet.
'I feel bad for Taylor. Her brother probably started some idiotic bullshit again, dumb jock..'
She rested her cheek against her soft palm, (e/c) irises scanning over all her new classmates for the semester. A few of the desks were left empty, the twins' desks included.
'And speak, but not really speak of the devil.'
The two brunettes ran into the room, Tyler unnecessarily slamming the already opened door against the wall. Although it was probably an accident, it was still irritating. The taller twin apologized for their tardyness, his sentence being finished off by the short twin.
Quickly noticing the absence of the teacher, both let out sighs of relief and verbally expressed it as well. That was unfortunately interrupted.
As Y/N watched the dreadful look wash over the twins features, she couldn't help but smile at how ironic their situation was. Both brunettes were dismissed to their seats, and once they moved, in walked the teacher with two new students. The soft grin that once had entangled the girls lips immediately dropped.
It was the weird blond and whoever he was with. He seemed normal, but Mr. Smiles didn't. Trying to not feel so disappointed with their presence, mainly the blond, she tried to think about something else. That something else was still about the duo, through.
'They must be related.. They're new, yet they were together on the bus as well. Both are still together now.' She abruptly nodded, deciding that it was the only correct reason. 'This is going to be a long day for sure...'

Sorry this chapter is so short but I was really eager to get this chapter out🫶 I had this book on hold for so long, but good news is that while I was writing this chapter, I've made some plans for this book!
