I learned from a young age that love is conditional
A transaction more than anything
If you're this way, then, and only then, I will love you
Tit for tat
Even as I loved them unconditionally
Loving the good, the bad, the ugly
Wishing one person would love me how I love
No conditions
No underlying intentions
I don't want a perfect love
Just a love that I don't have to glue together again and again
A love that doesn't give up on me when I begin to retreat into myself
A love that holds my hand without hesitation even when they're clammy and cold
A love that cheers with me as I make step after step towards the finish line
A love that doesn't expect anything in return
For no other reason than just because they love me
I want the unconditional love for once
