"Oh my gosh, okay, um, what kind of position?" I asked.

"Well, I know you did game operations for the Kitchener Rangers, and the position is for Game Operations Lead, as an intern and turns into assistant manager of game operations for the Anaheim Ducks." He said. My jaw dropped. Every couple seconds I saw Jamie looking over from his friends to me to see how the phone call was going. When he saw the look on my face he gave me a confused look, to which I just gave him a thumbs up. He slowly walked over and put two hands on my waist, trying to listen in to the phone call and what his boss was saying.

"That's incredible, I would love to. That would be awesome." I responded, getting excited.

"Sweet, I will need you on a zoom call on Wednesday morning at 10am, I will send the link to your email." Bob said.

"That sounds perfect, I'm currently at home, I'm assuming you're talking 10am Pacific Standard Time?" I asked him just to confirm.

"Yep, exactly. This is also a paid internship, just so you know." He said. I smiled even more.

"Oh sweet, that's even better." I replied, trying not to sound too eager, even though I was truly jumping out of my skin.

"Awesome, well I will be in touch soon with the details. There will be a few emails coming your way, I don't necessarily mean for you to answer them right away because it is the weekend, but whenever you get a chance." He said.

"I look forward to it, thank you so much." I said.

"Thanks, Skyler, I'll talk to you later." And he hung the phone up with that.

"I didn't catch all of that, something about a paid internship?" Jamie asked as I put my phone back in his pocket.

"Game Operations Intern, lead, and if all goes well I get a job as the Game Operations Assistant Manager after 9 months." I said to him, the smile was huge on my face, and with every word I said his grew as well. Jamie immediately picked me up and spun me around, making me giggle happily.

"I am so proud of you, baby. That's incredible!" Jamie said, putting me down after a minute, and kissing me passionately on the lips.

"Thank you, my love. Did you do this?" I asked. "Like, did you give him my resume or contact or anything?" I finished.

"No, I didn't, I don't know who would've. Do you have any connections with the team management?" Jamie asked.

"No, the closest I have is all my Rangers connections, and Addy and Claire just got hired within Calgary, but that has nothing to do with Anaheim." I said, I genuinely couldn't think of anything else that would've gotten him my contact, especially because I didn't apply for anything, I wasn't done school yet. I still had two years.

"What's all the excitement about over here?" Ryan asked, coming over to us, everyone else following behind.

"I just got an internship with the Ducks." I said, happily.

"Yo, that's sick, Sky!" Ryan said, taking a few steps over to me and hugging me. The rest of the guys all agreed, Ryan, Jessa, and of course, Charlie, gave me a hug.

"I am so incredibly proud of you, baby." Jamie said, pulling me into a tight hug again.

"I love you so much, thank you for everything. There is no way I'd even have the chance to get this internship if it wasn't for you." I said to him quietly, with my head against his chest.

"I love you the most, you have no idea how much I love you." Jamie replied, kissing the top of my head. "You deserve this more than anyone I've ever known."
