Depression

Memories, like shadows, cast a pall,
Echoes of laughter, tears that fall.
In the heart's chambers, they reside,
A constant companion, by our side.

Depression, a fog, thick and gray,
Obscures the light, keeps joy at bay.
It feeds on memories, sweet and sour,
In its grip, the brightest moments cower.

Yet, in the darkness, a flicker of light,
Memories of love, shining bright.
They hold the power, they hold the key,
To unlock the chains, to set us free.

Depression may darken the sunniest day,
But memories, too, can light the way.
For in our hearts, they forever stay,
Guiding us through life's troubles.
