"Where the hell did you learn all this?"

Aizawa and Present Mic stared at [Name] in disbelief who had just aced an AP Calculus test. They were stunned by how fast the teen had finished it after demanding a harder test, saying the questions they were scrambling to find for him were no more than child's play. He took a total of two hours reading through and answering the questions of the exam, an entire hour under the time limit. He was clearly very knowledgeable on the subject— the adults were amazed at the fact since they believed he hadn't had education beforehand as he had lived on the streets.

"I used to read math books for fun. I would find a bunch of old textbooks outside of schools near the end of the year that were going to be thrown out because of how damaged they were."

The two teachers were still speechless. Even with a textbook, learning and understanding such complex equations at such a young age was a huge feat in itself.

Aizawa was the first to speak, addressing Present Mic.

"...I think that we should move him up for maths. After all, this was supposed to be a placement test. The best we can do is a year three class, but even then..."

The man trailed off. It was a rare sight to see him so bewildered, [Name] would have laughed at his widened eyes that were so uncharacteristically large on his paled face.

"I-uhm, yeah...definitely..."

Mic's cockatoo-like hair was messy and his sunglasses hung crookedly from his face. [Name] took a long look at him, as if debating something with his dark eye, before speaking.

"You know, I wouldn't mind learning some stuff again... I mean, it would be nice to experience a proper class, after all."

Aizawa cleared his throat and sighed as he sat up straight.

"All right then. I'll have you arranged for the 3A math class. It has the best heroes-in-training in the school, so they should be able to keep you in check just in case since I won't be present."

[Name] looked down at his wrists, the cuffs a solemn remainder of his social status. He sighed inaudibly through his mask as he looked back up at Aizawa.

"That sounds good to me, sir-uh, Aizawa."

The stumble over the words brought a small, relieved smile to the ebony-haired man. Since the dinner time incident, [Name] had been much more uptight and cautious in the way he spoke and acted, sitting up straight and talking in well-thought out, calculated phrases. His slightly flushed cheeks at his mistake made him seem like the actual teenager he should be and not the robot he was acting like.

"Well then, now that that's settled, we should move on to English. Zashi, take it away."

A warming air blew past [Name], ruffling his dark hair as he looked up to the UA building. He had studied this vaguely as a child but seeing the massive H in person made the scale much more imposing and impressive.

It was February 26th. Exam day.

"Come on, chop chop. I'm gonna be late."

Aizawa stepped past [Name] and walked to the gates, scanning his teacher's pass. He trailed a yellow sleeping bag behind him as he groaned something about it "being too early for shit like this". It was a bright 6:00 am sharp, three and a half hours before the actual exam. However, due to [Name]'s status and method of regulation, he had to accompany Aizawa beforehand to assist in preparations for the test; while remaining oblivious to its true nature, of course.

Snapping back from his unnoticed daze, he quickly followed his guardian into the building.

The teacher navigated the series of halls with practiced ease, his shuffling echoing along the lonely walls over [Name]'s calculated steps as he assessed the area: the exits, the cameras, what doors were locked; an extensive search on the floor plan. Aizawa noticed this behavior.
