Evrin's point of view

I made it back to Tennessee, after the long trip sitting on a plane for so many hours along with having an argument with Alec about something I said during our late night ice cream run. I thought alot about what he said about choosing what I loved regardless of what anyone had to say, I knew he was right and I didn't want to argue with him so I decided to return here early so he could spend some time alone and think.

I seen my dad standing by his truck as I walked out of the airport terminal and placed my bags in the back.

Evrin: hey dad...

Dad: hey princess.

I got in the truck after giving him a hug and he drove towards the house, I seen my mom standing on the porch as soon as dad pulled into the driveway

Dad: I know you're worried about her saying something about your choice of friends but I reminded her that you being happy is more important than anything else and she agreed that she wasn't going to lecture you about you making a male friend, so just don't mention it okay princess?

Evrin: I know you and mom want me to finish college but Alec is a great guy and I wish you and mom would give me a chance to live the life I want, I'm not perfect and I'm going to make mistakes it's part of life.

Dad: I know that you're mother has been hard on you ever since you become a teenager but it's only because she doesn't want you making the same mistakes she did when she was your age and that you're an adult experiencing life, she feels like you are going to male those same mistakes with this Alec person.

Evrin: I know she wants me to make the right decisions but I really care about Alec dad and I...

Dad: you love him?

Evrin: yeah and I think he feels the same way but it's never going to happen cause we had an argument before I left so mom got her wish, I will be returning to finish school here and getting the job she wants me to have.

I climbed out of the truck and headed inside after I got my bags, I knew that I messed things up with Alec and his friends were probably happy that I was out of the picture.

I was sitting on my bed when I seen my mom walk into the room.

Mom: how are you feeling sweetheart?

Evrin: I'm hurting mom...

Mom: where are you hurting at? I have some pain reliever downstairs...

Evrin: pain reliever can't help with a broken heart mom.

Mom: oh sweetheart, I know you're upset but maybe things will be better this way. I know that you care about him and if he feels the same way than maybe he will come around.

Evrin: and what if he doesn't mom? I know you wanted me to focus on finishing college but I love him.

Mom: it's going to be okay sweetheart, just give it time. You should go see your brother before you leave again, I know he will like to see you...

I wiped my face and calmed down before I headed to Brantley's house, I seen him working on his motorcycle when I parked the truck.

Brantley: hey kiddo, you're here early. Thanksgiving isn't for another two days.

Evrin: I decided to come back early so I wouldn't be stuck flying back after Thanksgiving.

Brantley: smart thinking but I've known you long enough to know when you're lying Evie, so what happened?
