"But what about Kelly?"
"Nah I think she's good." I turned around to spot Roger looking a bit nervous while talking to Kelly. I think he was her science lab partner or something. I finally gave up and kept on dancing with Jason.
All out the song I tried my best not to snort out loud because Jason kept making the stupidest faces while we danced. I knew that some people might get the wrong idea about us but I didn't really care. We were just meant-to-be friends who were brought together in the weirdest circumstances but by the same common problem. We both like our best friends and with the help of that I made myself another good friend.
"You know maybe something good did come out of me liking Ethan even if I was rejected."
Jason raised an eyebrow at me. He looked surprised that I brought it up after all my hissing and nagging about him even mentioning his name.
"And what would that be?" he asked curiously.
"I made myself a new friend." I said while smiling and he smiled back. "Even though I got a pretty lame friend..." I trailed off as Jason glared at me and stuck his tongue out.
It was halfway through the second song and Jason continued telling me jokes, until I noticed that his eyes were always shifting.
"And I was like you can't eat chicken like that! You need to-"
"Jason go ask her to dance." I interrupted.
"Huh what?!"
"I know you want to ask Claire to dance." We both looked over at where she was sitting at one of the tables looking bored while staring at her juice and twisting the cup around.
Jason sighed. "B-but what if she says no or even worse if she's expecting, someone like Cole Summersault?"
"She won't say no." I assured him. I mean at this moment she was so desperate that she would probably even dance with Johnny the nose picker (okay maybe not that desperate...)
"Just trust me." Jason looked over at Claire with an anxious expression. "And even if she says no it'll be her lose."
He nodded and mumbled a few words of agreement. He let go of me and puffed of his chest.
"Fine I'll go do it." I patted his back to reassure him.
"That's my boy." I said proudly as he went over to ask Claire. When he did she took his hand faster then you could say "desperate". I went and sat down at the table that she happened to be at before. I watched them dance and I could see by the movements of Jason's mouth, that he was babbling. Oh no this can't be good.
Suddenly, some bogus couple came dancing right in front of me so I couldn't see what was going on with Jason and Claire.
"Um could you guys move?" I asked politely. "I'm trying to stalk that nice little couple over there and you're blocking my view."
The guy gave me a nasty look. "What the heck?" he said.
His girl date then spoke. "That's not our problem loser." She said.
"Move!" I said then.
"No." The guy replied back sharply.
I got up form my chair and went to kick his butt, while his date just watched me incrudiously. Finally his date got tired of all the butt-kicking and she told him that they should dance somewhere else.
"Heck yeah!" I yelled back at the annoying couple.
I glanced back at Claire and Jason and they were kissing. I groaned, man I missed the whole thing. They pulled away and I could see the big grin on both of their faces. As soon as I sat down my phone buzzed indicating that I had received a text. It was from Jason:
