Chapter 17: Spring Fling-Part 1

"Wow did you realize how many times you might've said 'friend' in that sentence?!"

Jason rolled his eyes at me and I just smiled back. "Ugh after all that intense speech that's all you pulled out?!" I looked at him sheepishly. "Whatever at least I cheered you up."

As we were walking and almost entering the dance/gym I saw Tracy and Chris in the corner outside of the gym where all the lockers were.

"Hola bella" (Hello beautiful)

"¿De verdad cress que la lÍnea funcionaba en mÍ idiota?" (Did you really think that pick up line would work on me you idiot?!)

"Tu lo molesto que estoy tratando de darte un cumplido." (I'm just trying to give you a compliment!)

"Eres un estúpido!" (You're stupid!)

"Eres un estúpido!" (You're stupid!)

I was worried that I would have to step in. I didn't know any Spanish but I knew that when two people were screaming at each other with angry faces, well it just wasn't a good sign. Right when I was about to break up their fight they started kissing. Wow! I looked at Jason who seemed as shocked and confused as me.

I grabbed his arm and said. "Okay next year I am definitely taking Spanish." We both agreed and walked into the gym.

At least Tracie looked exceptionally beautiful in her dress, Chris got that right. I walked and immediately saw Kelly. Oh a little note here: I haven't told my friends about Ethan rejecting me because, yesterday when I got home it was too late so I hadn't had the chance to call them.

Kelly faced dropped a little when she saw my arms looped with another boy (well the boy she wasn't expecting).

"Where's Ethan?!" Kelly said immediately when she walk up to me and Jason. My face faltered a little. Jason saw that and offered me to sit down and he passed me his phone.

"Just play some 'link that gulg'" I gave a weird face but he just ignored it. I was assuming that he was going to explain to Kelly about the whole situation and he wanted me to be distracted and not pay too much attention to what happened. But he could've treated me less like a child; I mean play a game on his phone? He could've made me go get some punch I mean that's what they always say...then again the punch is probably spiked. Seeing that I'd have nothing else to do I started playing the game.

"Marissa let's go dance." I heard Kelly say and I saw the look of pity in her eyes. I put my hand up to stop her.

"No I'm on the seventh stage and I'm not going to stop now."

"Come on Marissa." Jason joined in.

"Hey when mama's on roll you don't mess sister." I said before quickly going back to my game.

Jason then decided to grab the phone out my hands, or more like pry because I wouldn't let go. He then lifted me over his shoulder and brought me to the dance floor. As he put me down I felt a pang in my heart. Ethan used to do that to me. But I quickly pushed away that feeling and started dancing.

I had to say I was having fun with everyone and it was funny watching all of us "drop it low" as Chris said. Suddenly they started playing a slow song. It was "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri. Chris immediately grabbed Tracie and they started dancing. Right when I was about to leave the dance floor, Jason grabbed my arm.

"And where do you think you're going missy?" He asked. I gave him confused look.

"To sit do-" Jason instantly pulled me closer to him and put his hands on my hips I simultaneously put my hands on his shoulder and we started swaying.
