Chapter Twelve: Aqua's Potential Date and Deep Space!

Aqua does a little bit of training in the vestibule before the games begins. She is upset to learn that she hadn't seen Terra fighting in the same bracket as she is. She agrees to continue what she started and ends up facing Zack who had battled Terra but was controlled by Hades before Terra freed him. She quickly beats Zack and is introduced to Hades.

"Really – it's you? Here I thought I'd drop in to see which muscle-head was up next and... Holy hydras! It's just a little girl, a little lassie, a little bluebird." Hades mutters.

"Hades!" Zack yells.

"I'm sorry, is that a mosquito? Where did I put that bug spray?" Hades asks.

"Mosquito?!" Zack yells.

"So you're Hades." Aqua states, "You used Zack and tried to cast Terra into the darkness."

"So I take it you're acquainted with the spineless chicken heart?" Hades asks.

"Terra is my friend!" Aqua defends, "And I hear he triumphed over the darkness. He's not spineless."

"Funny, you know, cuz I heard different. Ya see, it was chicken heart who asked me for a little, shall we say... instruction on how to use darkness in the first place." Hades explains.

"Never!" Aqua yells.

"And he was close to doing it, too, when the sap went and got cold feet. Now if that ain't cowardly, I don't know what is. But you my lovely bird... Why not flit over here and demonstrate some real courage for the winning team?" Hades asks.

"The darkness doesn't interest me!" Aqua states.

"Well, that was rude. A 'No thank you, your godliness' might've sufficed." Hades mutters, "Fortunately, I still get to – ahem – destroy you. Rules say you face me next. And I have a whole lot of darkness... with your name on it!" Hades vanishes into a puff of black smoke.

"Get back here, Hades!" Zack yells, "Man, if only I were up against him. Aqua. You gotta avenge me and Terra!" Aqua nods and Zack nods as well.

Aqua ends up facing Hades. Hades throws out a surprise assistant and Aqua learns that it's alright for the challengers to call in backup. Aqua tells Zack that she'd face Hades and Hades' partner alone in which she does. She fights the two off with ease. Aqua's eyes widen when Willow takes a hit for her. Hades steps back and looks at Aqua.

"My, my, what was that?" Hades asks.

"Willow, I've got this." Aqua says and finishes Hades and the titan off. Hades whines like a child and leaves. Zack tries to flirt with Aqua and Zack asks Aqua that if he becomes a hero then Aqua will go on a date with him. Hercules comes over and spots Aqua blushing. Aqua explains to Hercules that strength alone won't get him to be a hero. She gives him advice and he thanks her for it.

[Deep Space]

Terra is captured by an alien spaceship by aliens who think he is an alien. He gets knocked unconscious. He dreams about Scarlet smiling happily at him before he wakes up. He looks around and finds himself in a cell. He hears something and heads to check and finds Unversed attacking.

"Unversed." Terra states and frees himself. He fights off the Unversed. When all the Unversed are gone, he hears a voice talking to him.

"Very impressive display." The alien guy states. Terra looks at him then begins to walk away.

"Wait! You help! I have been imprisoned on ridiculous charges!" The alien guy exclaims.

"Is that so?" Terra asks.

"I am innocent scientist who created galaxy's most destructive - uh... constructive species of all times! Why, my experiment, could annihilate creatures you found so hard. He is bulletproof, fireproof, and can think faster than a supercomputer. He can see in the dark and move objects 3,000 times his rather diminutive size! And for reasons preposterous, the Federation Council fears him. They take him away from me and throw me here in small, stuffy, rather badly lit cell." The alien complains.
