She whistles, "Oh."
I nod, "Yeah."
"So you've reunited now? Does she have feelings for you?"
"She's straight as far as I know. We ran into each other at the ESPYs." I say.
"She's an athlete too?" She asks.
I nod.
"Who. Who. Who." She chants.
I smile and groan, "Ugh, I can't tell you."
Her eyes widen, "She's not out then if you can't tell me."
I feel my cheeks heat up, "Uh, I'm not having this conversation with you."
She chuckles, "Maybe this friend has feelings for you."
I shake my head, "Doubt it."
She sighs, "It's possible. Don't shut it down."
I shake my head, "She already crushed my heart once."
"Well. Eight years is a long time. You have another text."
She points and I look.
Alex Morgan: Please wear a helmet. For me? 🥺
I sigh.
"That sounds like a more than a friend, text."
I bite my lip and text.
Me: Are you pouting?
She types and I see a picture of her, pouting.
Me: You're the worst. I'll find a helmet.
Bubbles appear again.
Alex Morgan: 😗 thank you!
'Maybe she does have feelings.'
Alex POV - one week later
Bailey Hamilton: Ugh, it's raining and it's cold. If it's going to be cold, at least let it snow so that I can hit some parks with rails.
I smile.
Me: you're a big baby, I got you a suite so you'll be protected from the rain.
I see her type.
Bailey Hamilton: THANK YOU. this is so much bigger than when I would watch your high school games. also, these Seattle fans are insane, I'm worried.
"Alright! Let's get out there!"
I set my phone down.
"You good, Al?" Tobin asks me.
I nod, "Yep!"
She smiles and pats my shoulder.
We line up and walk out.
I listen to the crowd roar and smile.
When the anthems are done, we head to the bench and I pull my warm up off.
I look up, trying to find Bailey, smiling when I see her sitting in the suite.
'Glad that she's here.'
Bailey POV
"THAT WAS AWESOME!" I exclaim when I walk into Alex's house.
She chuckles and walks in behind me, "You act like you've never been to a soccer game."
"No, but Alex, that was like wild. Packed stadium, so much action, like, whoa." I say and throw myself onto her couch.
Blue runs up and starts licking my face.
