"yeah, well, she's always so smiley. you can barely see her face." ryan joked to their cousins who were visiting for the day.
"shut up, i am not." june squinted her eyes at her brother. "oh, you're not?" ryan asked in a mocking voice. "i'm not." she matched the mocking tone. "alright, cut it out. both of you." their father ordered.
the two siblings turned back to their plates and ate their food until they were excused upstairs to their rooms.
june hopped onto her bed, lying down and going to instagram on her phone to scroll.
