"I love you"He said
She stared at him blankly for a few seconds and then smiled

"I know...and I love you too!... that's what friends are fo-"
"Not like that"He interrupted her

Anshika went and kept her hand on his forehead
"Tu thik toh hai...bukhar hogaya kya?"She asked with a chuckle
"Temperature toh normal ha-"
Without letting her finish...Darshan pulled her in a hug
"What happened Darsh?"Anshika asked hugging him back
"I...I love you,not just as a friend but more than that,I want to see your face after waking up and before sleeping everyday" he said ,still hugging her

Anshika's breathing hitched hearing his sudden confession
"Anshu?"
She slowly pushed him back...not looking in his eyes
"Anshika...I"He tried to hold her hand but she gestured him to stop
"I'll.....I will leave now"Anshika said and stormed out of his room
Tears rolled down his cheeks

Anshika opened the main door and Avish and Siddharth were about to ring the doorbell
"Kya hua?"Siddharth asked seeing her on verge of crying
"Don't come here please"Anshika said and went inside her house
Knowing that they can come inside....she locked the door of her bedroom and sat on the bed

"I love you"
"Darshan loves you"
"His eyes tell everything"
"No...it's not like that"
Her head filled up with all these things

Slowly tears started flowing from her eyes
"Why.....why did it have to be like this Darshan"Anshika held her head sniffing
"we-we are b-best friends....why this?"she sobbed

"Anshu open the door"Siddharth banged

"I will....I will listen to everyone..just give me some time"
"Fine...we are here okay"he replied

Meanwhile in Darshan's house:

Avish understood what could've happened and went to Darshan's room

Darshan was looking at the door blankly with tears in his eyes

Darshan sat on the bed
Going near him...Avish hugged him

"She looked so hurt Avish....she didn't even look in my eyes"Darshan said with cracked voice
"Tu chup hoja pehle...ro mat bhai"Avish calmed him down
"Agar usne mujhse baat karna hi chod Diya to?"Darshan looked at Avish
"Pagal hai kya....Apni Anshu hai woh...you know she won't do that ever"Avish said caressing his back
"I'll also talk to her okay?calm down"Avish said

Curled up in her bed she took her phone that was ringing

"Chachu"it displayed
She immediately wiped her tears

"Haa chachu"Anshika picked up
"Hel-"
"Su thayu Anshu?"He sensed the difference in her voice
"Su?k-kuch nahi"She tried to sound normal
"Hmm..video call kar toh"He said and hung up
"Ch-"

He himself video called her as she didn't
Making sure her face wasn't a mess as it was a while ago...Anshika picked up and smiled

"Hiii"She said
"Kya hua beta"Her chachu asked in a soft voice
"Kuch nahi hua chachu....A-abhi so Rahi thi...isliye awaj aisi hai"Anshika said
"And face?"
"F-face...so r-rahi thi na"
"I know you since you were a little kid Anshi.... don't lie"
"I....chachu I'll call you later...W-woh Naushad sir is calling"Anshika excused herself

Evening:

Someone banged her room's door
"Anshika....open the door"
It was Avish

"I am not asking you...I am telling you...Darwaja khol....Right now"He said
"I will not"She shouted
"You haven't eaten anything since morning....open the door!"Avish banged it one more time
"I am not hungry"
"Anshu....open the door"

After several tries....she opened the door
"Come"He dragged her towards bed and made her sit...served the food and handed it to her
"Khayegi ya haat se khilau ab?"Avish
"Mujhe nahi khana"Anshika kept it at side
He took the plate in his hand and sat beside her
"Open your mouth"he demanded
"Nahi khaana...tu ja na"Anshika said
He glared at her for once and she opened her mouth

"Why didn't you come out?"Avish asked
She kept quiet
"Anshu....I know you didn't expect this...but unexpected things are the bes-"
"Stop Avish"Anshika interrupted him
"Y-you know how hard it was for me to move on from Aniket....For Darshan.... it's just the first time he has feelings for someone...and I don't know why it had to be me!......For him...it may just be a fling Avi....or

Anshika looked down not knowing what to say

"Tell me one thing....do you like Darshan?"Avish asked
"That's what I am saying!Idk anything...I...I don't know"Anshika said
"Do you like it when he is around?"
She nodded as a yes
"But we ar-"
"Uske saath safe feel karti hai ki nai?"He asked
"Haa"
"Do you feel uneasy when he is suffering?"he asked
"But we are friends!"Anshika said
"Just answer"
She nodded positively
"That's it!....Take your time..the decision will be yours after all"He said patting her cheek and smiled

She laid back after Avish went

Staring at the ceiling....tears rolled down her cheeks

Remembering how he has only cared for her from the beginning...how he was always there for her....how he was the one who hugged her and listened to her whining after a tiring day....how it was him who never got tired of listening to her problems and trying to solve them....how he was the one to get jealous immediately

"I.....I don't know if I would be able to l-love you  D-darshan....i-i am sorry"
