Our first few regular class sessions are purely online. We even discussed the foundations of community development today. However, there were several contests. I managed to participate in both an essay-writing contest (given the fact that I was able to write six pages of compositions in Translation and Editing for almost the whole school day last semester) and a spelling bee (also given the fact that I participated in such activity when I was still in elementary). On January 11, 2024, I have participated in the essay writing contest, and my topic is about the role of technology in the life of a student. I gave sensible and appropriate examples, and my writing was interesting and motivating. Most of my writing is in cursive. However, although I wanted to write up to seven pages, greater than the written work me and the other students did last semester (in Translation and Editing that pre-empted the remaining two courses for that day), the other students told me that I don't have to write up to seven pages, or fill up the paper. They just said that I had to write at least 500 words.

My last paragraph in the essay-writing contest was similar to "All in all, technology plays a vital role in the life of students

On January 13, 2023, I participated in a spelling bee. Seven students participated, and Amerah, Jemimah, Kenshi, and I are among those who participated. We wrote the words after the hosts said the word and meaning and given the go-signal. I spelled most of the words correctly (including "phenomenon"), with only four errors (including "chauffeur" which I spelled as shouffer). I wrote some of the words in cursive, but they told me to write them in print. The words I spelled correctly are "aisle", "kaleidoscope", "deliquescent", and "chiaroscurist" to name a few. After the places were given, the students declared me as the champion. Jemimah, Darlene, Amerah, and Kenshi congratulated me. Kenshi and I high-fived. As I walked home, I talked to Kenshi and explained to her why I chose Lexi Gonzales in a princess dress for my pop art activity last semester, saying, ''dahil sa kinanta ko noong seminar natin last semester...". The students congratulated me again and I went home happily.
