Chapter 2: Origin part 2

"I think I might be the Omnius guy" I said, sounding way too relaxed about it.
"Explain" Justin replied
I told him my entire hallucination in as much detail as I could. It was starting to get a little fuzzy.
"I figured you might say that" Justin said disappointedly
"Come with me" he said as he motioned his hand towards me
He led me to his basement that was extremely high tech and filled with blinky lights, I was confused at first until I saw a giant conference room, with the Vigilante Society logo right in the center
"YOU HAVE THE VIGLIANTE SOCIETY IN YOUR BASEMENT!?" I exclaimed
"Depends who you ask, Nightmare swears I live in the attic of this base."
He showed me another huge room, this one was completely empty with a giant screen throughout the entire thing, on the floor, roof and every wall.
"Where should I beat the crap out of you?" He said while pushing a button
Instantly the room around me changed around me into what I assume was Italy. It wasn't real, but it definitely looked like it.
"Woahhh. Wait, did you say beat the crap out of m-"
Instantly I was hit with a kick in the chest. And was knocked to the floor
"What's the matter? You're the avatar of one of the most powerful people in the universe and you can't take a kick?"
"Why...did....you...do that" I said between gasps, because I got the wind knocked out of me.
"If you wanna live long enough to fight the guy that's summoning Nullity, you gotta train. Oh and I'm sending you to the Crusader University's entrance exam whether you like it or not. You're gonna need all the school you can get"
I shot up and said "Really?!" with practical stars in my eyes
My response was another kick in the head
"Not unless you can use those powers and give me a good hit"
I got up quicker this time, and tried to swing at him with all my might. Instead he just simply dodged and hit me with a karate chop to the neck.
"It's honestly laughable how easy this is" he said with a big evil glare on his face
"You're enjoying this too much" I said while we both circled each other with our fists up.
"Oh definitely"
I tried to swing again, and again and again. But every time I swung, I got a lovely kick, chop, or punch.
"Come on, where is this Omni-Source you were talking about, Omnius" I muttered to myself
This time, I was really gonna try. I clenched every muscle in my body, and when I charged for my punch, my arm began to glow a brilliant green. Justin clearly saw this was completely different, and instead of simply dodging, he completely jumped out of the way. I tried to stop it, but I couldn't my arm burned like fire and It only got worse. A loud pulsing noise came from my arm, and in an instant, A loud blast erupted as my punch exploded, creating a absolutely massive burst, it blew a hole straight through the wall (luckily enough) my punch wasn't aimed towards the city, but the ocean (because Justin's base was on an island) and proceeded to pard the ocean in half leaving a line that stretched on for what seemed like forever that showed the ocean floor, I looked up and saw the clouds also had a line through it. Justin looked at me with complete terror, I thought it was because the blast I caused, but taking a closer look of where he was looking, It was my arm. It was scorched, blue and purple. Justin quickly grabbed a syringe and injected my arm with it. I was completely woozy, and was shifting in and out of unconscious. I awoke 30 minutes later according to Justin.
"Your teachers at CU have extremely advanced healthcare tech, the cells in your arms were literally destroying themselves"
I looked down at it, but it looked perfectly normal
"You're joking right? It looks fine"
Justin motioned his hands in the direction of my hole in the wall, the ocean was back to normal. But the clouds still had the line. According to Justin the energy I produced with that one punch was so intense there were trace amounts that reached edge of our galaxy.
"Those screens cost so much" Justin said sounding almost heartbroken
"Wait, back it up. If my arm was completely shattered, how is it not in a cast or something right now"
"I just told you teachers at CU get advanced healthcare tech"
"Why don't you guys give it to doctors and stuff?"
"Because they're still technically in testing, for all we know that arm can turn into a octopus tentacle"
I looked at my arm with more fear that people should when looking at their arm
"Well, you should probably get home. Meet me here in a week, the room should be ready again by then"
Instantly I shot up with my palm to my head, my parents were gonna kill me, I was supposed to be home probably hours ago. I jumped out of the medical bed and mumbled something to Justin about being thankful that he saved my broken arm. And dashed out of there. When I left the front door, I remembered I was on an island, I was about to go back inside and ask Justin for a lift, but there was a bald man in a suit, right next to a dock, with a ferry in it. I ran up to him and asked if he could let me on
"Of course, sir" he said with a British accent
On the ferry ride, I texted Phoenix and Elijah about everything that happened. And they didn't believe it what so ever, but Phoenix was just confused on the avatar of an ancient diety thingy.
"Does that make you a demigod too?" He texted me
"No, maybe, I don't know? You tell me you're the demigod"
"Well, both of your parents are humans. And I don't think you look like a green ball with a black X on it. Which is probably what you'd look like if you were one, so probably not" he said with full confidence.
When I got off the ferry, I still was 3 and a half miles away from home. And I didn't have any money on me to call a cab. So I decided to just book it and run, after 10 ish minutes I was already out of breath and wanted to take a break, but I knew if I did. I wouldn't make it home until sundown. So finally, after 42 minutes of running, I was home. I saw my mom standing outside with her arms crossed, and I already knew I was in for the grounding of a lifetime just by the look on her face. I tried to explain to her everything that happened, but obviously she didn't believe it. Not until Justin came through the door unannounced
"Whatever he said it was probably true"
My mom (like the great parent she is) kicked him out. Until I explained that this was the guy I was talking about I managed to calm her down enough to the point where she let him in to at least talk. He told her a dummed down and less dangerous version of the Omnius and Nullity story, and what I did to his wall. (Not including the broken arm bit) And finally said
"Your son can be a great hero, and can even make it into CU, you just have to let me train him"
It was honestly surreal to see a member of the greatest superhero hero team of all time say that I could be great too.
"I'll talk to your father about it" she said finally.
Eventually though, she was pushed enough to let me do it. And everyday for the next YEAR AND 3 MONTHS I trained as hard as I possibly could, Justin put me through hell, the first 4 months was just learning the basics, learning how to fight, building up my speed, strength, flexibility, durability, and endurance. This was the hardest part, I had to balance my school work all along with my training. I trained until I bled and got calluses all over my body, I once fell asleep as soon as I got to the door of my house, because of how exhausted I was.
"Come on Austin, pick it up" Justin said dashing all around me as we sparred
"I'm trying!" I said exasperated
"Well you're not trying hard enough" he concluded and dashed behind me before I could react, and smacked me in the back of my head with his baton.
"You're slow, weak, and can barely use your power, that doesn't sound like a hero to me."
He said finally, sending me home
I continued practicing my attempts to contain the energy within myself, but to no avail. So I tried a different way, I tried to better understand my power, I learned every detail about it, studied all of Omnius's words, this isn't some kind of random energy, it's my own life force, that's why it keeps damaging me, I'm overusing it, and it causes my body to strain, literally sucking the life force out of me. Once I understood it, and after 8 months, I got it. I then used this to spar with Justin, he told me I'd never be ready unless I was able to hit a real punch on him, the only time I managed to actually hit him was when he grabbed me, and I bit his hand. But once I hit the year and 3 months mark, I hit him square in the jaw, a pretty decent punch, but that marked the end of my training.
So far, I can safely use 5 percent of my power throughout my body without breaking any bones. I'm able to convert the energy in my body, into kinetic energy, I'm able to use this kenetic energy to power my body, giving me super strength and speed, and I learned to output a larger amount of energy to my hand, and propell it outwards, creating blasts from my hands.
It's the day of the Entrance Exam. And I'm gonna do everything I can to get into this school with my friends, so I can become a hero, and really save lives.
