CHAPTER THREE

After the concert ended, Jen and I made our way through the crowd to meet Cody and Jake. We decided on meeting in the staff bathroom, that way no one would attack Cody.

We waited for about five minutes before Jake and Cody got to us.

“Hey guys!” I said once I saw them. I felt my heart skip a couple beats again. God, Cody is gorgeous…

“Hey!” Jake replied. But Cody didn’t say anything; he seemed as if he was staring at something. Then I noticed that he was looking at me. I could feel myself turning red so I did an awkward fake cough and tried to hide my face.  Cody must have noticed that I saw him staring because I saw him turn red too. When I looked up, our eyes locked for what felt like an eternity and I felt like I was going to melt right then and there.

Jen broke the silence by saying “Great concert tonight Cody! You were awesome!”

“Thanks!” He replied modestly without taking his eyes off me. I held his gaze for a few more seconds before breaking away and saying that I loved Cody’s shoes. I know it was a random and stupid thing to say, but I felt a little bit awkward. At my comment his face lit up, and he thanked me with an adorable smile.

“So what are your names?” Jake asked, pointing the question more towards Jen than myself.

“I’m Jen” She said batting her eyelashes.

“I’m Ryan!” I say with a friendly smile. I could tell that Jen was into Jake so I didn’t bother doing anything flirty back. I'm usually a pretty flirty person, but I'll save it for Cody.

“Ryan” Cody echoed. “That’s a really unique name!” He said with that same adorable smile.

“Well I’m a really unique girl.” I said with a grin.

“Jen, do you want to go walk around with me for a while?” Jake asked.

“I’d love to!” She answered, blushing of course.

After they left it was just Cody and I. He inched closer to me, so we were standing about 5 inches apart. I felt my insides grow hot, and I had butterflies. No, more like birds, in my stomach.

“You have really pretty eyes, Ryan.” Cody said.

“Thanks, I really like yours too.” I say with a smile.

“So uh…would you like to go sit down at the café? I think all the fans are probably gone by now, so we probably won’t get mobbed” Cody says with a laugh.

“Sure, that’d be fun!” I say enthusiastically.

We made our way to the café, and Cody was right, we didn’t get mobbed, everyone already left. I decided to text my dad and tell him that I was going to stay the night at Jen’s. I guess I should have asked Jen before telling him that, but I know she won’t mind. I began to wonder if Jen told her mom that we would be staying a little later, but decided not to dwell on it, and just enjoy the moment I was having with Cody.

“Here we are!” Cody says, and leads me to a table in the far corner. He pulls the chair out for me, and I blush.

“Your such a gentlemen.” I said with a playful wink, and Cody laughed. “I try” He replied.

“So Ryan, tell me about yourself. I really want to get to know you, you seem really sweet.” Cody says.

“Alright...but how about we make this fun...want to pretend we’re doing an interview?”

“Hahahaha, sure why not?”

“Hello everyone, today I’m here with Ryan….” Cody says trying to imitate a reporter. “What’s your last name?” he asked.

“Sarnelli” I reply with a laugh.

He went back to the “interview”. “Hello everyone, today I’m here with Ryan Sarnelli. Now Ryan tell me about your interests. What is your favorite color?”

“I’m like in love with hot pink.” I say, trying to sound like a celebrity.

“And your favorite animal?”

“Zebra!”

“What about your favorite sport?”

“Easy, cheerleading all the way!”

“Who is your favorite singer?”

I hesitate before answering. My favorite singer is obviously him, but I don’t want to sound stalker-ish or obsessed. But on the other hand I don’t want to be rude and not say him. Well, I guess I better just be myself and tell the truth.

“You.” I say with a smile.

Now that really made him blush. He was smiling like mad though; I could tell he was flattered. He inched in to kiss me, but Jen came bursting through the door just seconds before he could.
