If Only You Followed The Rules...

Chapter 2

You look at him angrily, "Tell me right now. Would you do it, would you kill me?".

049 looked at you, even though it was nearly impossible for him to show expression, you saw the look in his eyes change slightly. "It's not killing you, I would *cure* you."

"Don't you understand?! It's not a cure! All you do is kill people! A-and turn them into Zombies! That's what you do!"

Something in you that day seemed to snap. You were tired of it, but you tried to ignore the fact that 049 did nothing but kill people, realistically. He wasn't curing or helping anyone...

But that look in his eyes now...it scared you.

"Y/N, you need to leave."

"W-wait...what?" You froze.

"I want you to leave, we're done talking today."

"But- hey no, I asked you to answer a question. Now you can't just make me leave"

"And I answer your question," 049 turned to and looked up at the camera in the room, "you can remove her now, please".

A voice came over the intercom, "For your safety Y/N I suggest you come back out. Please approach the door so we may open it".

You rolled your eyes, standing up and walking quickly toward the door, you turned to speak to 049 one last time before leaving the room, "You're turning out to be a real ass, ya know that?".

-Small time skip-

You were eating lunch in the cafeteria, still annoyed by the earlier events of the day. To everyone else around, you were just alone in a corner, angrily eating a sandwich...

In a few hours you had to meet with your father in his office, yet another thing on a long list of stuff you didn't want to do.

You went up a few floors to spend some time with the safer classed SCPs. Like 529 and 999. They definitely helped cheer you up, albeit the many other annoying people asking to spend some time with them. A lot of people here began to really hate their jobs after just a few months.

The joy life would be if you could just forget everything and spend all your time up here...

or would it...?

You'd miss him... at least a little bit... wouldn't you?

With a sigh you make your way back to an elevator, no point in taking the stairs. As it slowly descends some guards would get off or on every few levels, they seemed a bit... concerned about something. But they wouldn't speak to you anytime you tried to prompt them too.

You eventually make your way down to your father's office, he was going through a bunch of old looking files. Things likely above your clearance level, but right now you didn't care enough to peek.

"Hey uh... dad?"

"Hmph, took you long enough Y/N. Close the door and sit, we need to talk."

You close the door, slowly walking over to sit. With a sigh you speak, "What did I do this time? Who's mad at me now-"

"You need to watch how you act." he said, interrupting you.

"Wait what? What do you mean? I... I don't think I've done anything..?"

"The O5 are still debating both killing or completely wiping your memory."

"Yeah I know that! I get it okay? I fucked up... bad."

"I'd say... your relationship with 049 is..."

"Don't even say it.. trust me... he's been well on my nerves recently, can we just cancel any interviews with him for the next few weeks? I can't handle it"

"Absolutely not."

"What."

"The only reason you're still here is because they think you can get information out of it. So no, you can't skip or cancel."

"Well it's not working!"

"Dammit Y/N, I will not be the man who's child is killed for reckless actions! Nor will I have to deal with you being cast out with no memory at all, I might never be able to see you again, risks of your memory returning..."

"What about how I feel?!"

"Feeling don't matter here Y/N! You know that! Do your job, get the information, then you can stop"

"Fine! Fine whatever! It's never going to happen! But I'll just spend the rest of my life doing this, over and over again!"

You hold back a scream as you storm off, leaving your father behind, simply shaking his head.
