The clock ticked slowly, reaching even closer to the ending bell.

The topic of the last lesson today was boring, just like everything else.

“...And you, Mary, Right where your head is, before the Big Bang, there was NOTHING there!”

Mary stared speechlessly from her seat at Ms. Bitters.

“And outside, where that squirrel is, there was NOTHING!” she points to the window. Outside the classroom a squirrel sat on a barbed wire fence, eating an acorn. It looks at us.

With a quiet sigh I glanced back at the clock.

“And under your chairs, NOTHING!”

My eyes caught a glimpse of Zim also ogling the clock. The second hand suddenly stops right before reaching the 12.

“And by that tree, where that dog is, nothing.”

Zim grunts as he grits his teeth and clings to his desk, in all honesty he acts just like a human wanting to leave school.

The second-hand reaches the twelve and the bell rings.

“Thank god” I mutter picking up my bag, following behind Zim.

“Don't forget that tonight is parent-teacher night. Everyone is required to bring their parents to the cafeteria.”

The alien stops in the doorway, turning around face planting into my stomach. He stayed still for a second before reeling back with a growl, making his way around me to Ms. Bitters.

He hates me! He literally hates my guts!

It makes me want to cry.

Moving out from the doorway I leaned against the wall watching the scene.

“I never agreed to attend this parent-teacher night!”

“Yes, you did.”

“No. You lie! YOU LIIIIIIEEE!!!” Zim flails his arms in scratching motions.

“Heh.” In a phantom-like swoop, Ms. Bitters goes to her desk. She opens a drawer and pulls out a disk which she sticks into a computer on her desk. She grabs the mouse and clicks and the blackboard opens up revealing a view screen. The view screen plays a recording of when we were starting or essays for engl, Zim was sitting fiddling with his pencil.

Zim, are you going to bring your parents to parent-teacher night?

Zim balances the pencil on his lip, then removes it so he can give an answer. “Yeah, sure, whatever.” he puts the pencil back on his lips.

The recording ends, and the blackboard returns to normal.

My eyes glance up to the security camera hanging from the ceiling.
