CHAPTER 1

CHAPTER ONE (THE GIRL IN THE LIBRARY)

3: 30 pm March 10 2010.

It was raining heavily, and it made the large pool of blood flow out continuously, soaking the floor and the bodies lying on the floor. There was a police barricade round the crime scene several detectives and police officers could be seen going in and out of the barricade.

The detectives and forensic officers were trying their best to preserve the little evidence they could get before they were destroyed by the rain.

"Anyone alive?"

The first detective asked, he was a fairly good looking man with a scar running from corner of his left eyes down his left cheek, he had black hair with receding hairline, he was in his mid forties, he wore a Tuttle neck shirt with a patched jean paired with loafers which he had inside the protection bag on his feet.

His voice sounded really loud and shaky, one could already detect the level of fear he had just by looking at the scene. It was the first time since he entered the force to encounter such gruesome scene. He was trying his best to keep his cool.

"yeah, we found one, a girl, 15 years old multiple stab wounds but she survived, paramedics are already moving her back to the hospital as we speak." One of the police officer close by answered. He was very plain looking and was in his uniform.

The detective looked down at his covered feet which were already soaked in blood before looking up to the sky and sighed.

"we gonna catch this bastards" he said before walking further into the crime scene.

MARCH 10 2023.

"I cant remember the last time I read a book" detective Mark said turning off the ignition of his car before leaving the car. He was the head detective at the Delta State police precinct.

Twenty eight years old, tall and good looking with curly brown hair. He wore a t-shirt, pants and a pair of runner.

I read all the time replied detective Ven as she also came down from the car. She was an average height, average look kind of woman, she was thirty years old. She had on a polo shirt, mom jeans and a pair of boots. They were partners. They have been partners for over a year.

Detective mark laughed as they started their walk to the general library of the Delta State university. I have said it before, you just need to put on your glasses and you will fit perfectly into the nerd crew. He said still laughing.

being a nerd isnt something terrible and am not a nerd she replied looking a bit angry as she hit his arms before walking quickly into the library not too far away from them.

Dont get mad at me, I wont call you a nerd anymore he said hastening his steps to keep up with her.

I wasnt angry she said as he caught up to her before turning to enter the police barricade inside the library after flashing her police id to the police officer who allowed them entrance.

Sure you not angry he asked

"Yes am sure, was just pulling your legs she replied smiling mockingly at him.

Alright, you won this round he said as they both stopped in front of the body on the pile of books.

any id Ven asked the coroner who was squatting close to the body before wearing her medical gloves and squatting too.

Amarachi peters, 28 years old , final year student, department of computer science the coroner said raising the identification card he found on the victim. I will run her DNA through the database ones I get back to the lab to avoid any foul play
