CHAPTER 17

"You seem to enjoy your food."

Napabaling  ako sa kinakain na hindi pa halos nabawasan. Sayang naman kung hindi ko to uubusin. Mas lalong ayaw kong ibigay to lalo na't may bawas na.

Uminom ako ng tubig at binalik ang tingin sa kaniya.

"Yeah. It does taste good."

Tumango-tango siya. I didn't know what to say, so I continued eating. Hindi niya naman ibibigay sa akin ang dala niya.

"Hmm. I think he likes you. Don't you think so?" he assumed.

My brows furrowed at that. "And?"

He tilted his head and looked at me like I said something wrong. Bakit? Ano naman ngayon kung gusto niya nga ako? As if I like him too.

Don't tell me... Is he jealous?

Umiwas siya ng tingin at umigting ang panga.

I put the utensils down and put the back of my hands under my chin while chewing the food. I looked at him teasingly.

What a start to a new day.

"And so what if he likes me?" panunuya ko.

Tiningnan niya lamang ako, tila binabasa ang laman ng utak ko. Nagtinginan kaming dalawa, and from here and then, I can sense something strange in me. Matagal na, actually. But the more he shows his interest in me, the more I think about him. Is this still normal? or am I already breaking the walls I built for myself?

I think I'm doomed.

"Uyy! Kaaga-aga ha. Ano yan?" Yudis then entered the room. As usual, hindi mabubuo ang araw nang hindi siya nag-iingay.

I snapped out of my thoughts and focused on my food.

"Don't assume too much. He's just being nice. And... I don't like him." I said lowly. Tama lang para marinig ni Hunt.

He stared at me for a while before handing me the paper bag. Di rin nakatiis.

I smirked at him and took it. "Thanks. Don't worry, I won't put it to waste. I'll eat it for lunch."

Yudis bumped Hunt's shoulders and looked at him maliciously. "Asus. May pahatid na ng breakfast ah. Parang si flash ah. Bilis."

I rolled my eyes jokingly while finishing the steak and the soup. Mamaya ko na lang kakainin yung bigay ni Hunt.

"By the way, we have a meeting later in the conference room. I'll see you there."

I wiped my mouth with a tissue and nodded at him.

"Hmm. See you" I said, watching them leave.

Natawa ako dahil rinig ko pa rin hanggang dito sa kinauupuan ko ang boses ni Yudis. Kahit kailan talaga. I hope he finds someone who can make him stop blabbering.

I continued fixing my table and put aside the paper bag of food that Hunt gave me. I'll eat that later.

Tatayo na sana ako para itapon yung pinagkainan ko nang biglang may dumating na bisita. I sighed and went back to my seat. Baka ano pang gawin nito at may ilagay sa mesa ko.

"Good morning"

Wearing a maroon square-neck crop top and black pants, Rainela walked near my table.

"What do you need?" I asked while scanning some documents.

"You know it's bad to start your day being grumpy," she concluded.

I raised my right brow at her. What is she trying to do now? A close friend of mine? Besides, anong pake niya?
