Hidden Mistake

CHAPTER 8

"Bagong gupit?" bungad ni Ace, umagang-umaga.

Nailang ako kaya umiwas ako ng tingin.

"Asus nahiya pa."

"Tss." I scoffed.

"Naku. Thank you ha." sarkastikong aniya.

I was on my way to the cafeteria for breakfast when Ace saw me. Sabay na kami papunta doon.

There were agents eating, when we entered the cafeteria.

Some greeted Ace and she greeted back. I know some are looking at me and they want to talk to me as well, but they chose not to.

I bought my fav leche flan and chicken soup for breakfast. Nagpa add na rin ako ng water.

Ace and I both sat on a 4 seater table. Nilapag ko na ang pagkain sa mesa at umupo na.

I prayed silently and took my spoon para makapagsimula na sa pagkain.

Nakailang subo ako bago nag - ingay ang cafeteria. Well hindi na yan bago dito sa tuwing nandito sila.

"Uyy Nyx, Ace. Good morning." boses ni Yudis ang nangibabaw sa buong lugar.

He took a seat in front of Ace. He's with Cap, Red and Rex. Cap took a seat in front of me, while the other two took a new table and two chairs for them. Si Red ay tumabi kay Ace and Rex in front of Red, just beside Yudis.

"Wow. Glowing ha. New hairstyle?? Nagpakulay ka? " pang-e-echos ni Yudis.

Dahil sa sinabi niya, nabaling sa akin ang atensyon ng ibang kasama.

"Uhmm. Just tried another hairstyle" I said as I sip on my water.

"It suits you. By the way, are you fine? How's your wound?" saad ni Cap.

Nag-iwas ako ng tingin sa pag-inom. I put the glass of water on the table and cleared my throat.

"Hindi na namamaga pero may sugat pa." I said.

He looked at my cheek to check and he just nodded a bit.

"Hayy. Order na lang tayo pre. Gutom na ako." Yudis stood up and pulled Red and Rex to the food area.

Cap was left sitting in front of me. He was on his phone. My mind is arguing whether I'll ask him to order or not. I looked at him and he caught my eyes.

"What is it?" he said, still looking at me.

I cleared my throat and looked at my food. "You won't order food?" I asked.

When I looked up at him, he was biting his lower lip. Tiningnan ko ang kaniyang labi. 

Nag-iwas ako ng tingin ng magsalita siya. "Yudis knows what to order for me." he said a bit amused now.

I nodded and continued eating my food. Ace was eating her food silently. Yudis and the two boys came with trays of food in their hands. They started eating after a while.

This scenario is already part of my living. My life here in the agency is empty without us eating together and being noisy in the cafeteria. I'm thankful I got to experience these things because of them. Them, being part of my life was a great change. Noon, ako lang mag-isa ang kumakain sa isahang lamesa, but then everything change. Now, I'm eating together with them. 

We talked as we ate, but then I had to leave for some important matters.

Tumayo ako at magpapaalam na sana nang sinundan ako ng tingin ni Cap.

"Where are you going?" he asked, curious.

"I need to go home. May aasikasuhin pa ako."

He stopped eating and crossed his arms as he leaned back on his chair. "It's too dangerous."
