real life

Maeve and charles had coincidentally booked hotel 10 minutes from each other so that made seeing each other so much easier. Maeve got freshened up really quickly and started to walk down the street, putting her hood up trying to avoid being noticed. She was in miami during the grand prix, there was famous people all around no doubt someone was going to be snapping pictures.

She finally reached the hotel after a quick walk and that's when the hotel suddenly started becoming a lot more familiar, she had stayed here a previous year with him during one of his races. Maeve walked right into an elevator hoping that she would be the only person until a girl put her hand in.

"Hold the elevator!" the mystery girl shouted, so Maeve did she pressed the open button allowing the girl to enter through the doors.

"Thank you so much" the girl said and Maeve just smiled back at her, she wasn't trying to be rude she just wanted to keep to herself

As the elevator began its ascent, Maeve couldn't shake the feelings creeping over her. The familiarity of the hotel, the buzz of excitement surrounding the whole weekend, and now this chance encounter in the elevator.

The girl beside her seemed to sense the tension in the air and cleared her throat nervously. "So, are you here for the Grand Prix too?" she asked, breaking the silence.

Maeve shook her head, her mind racing with memories of past races and the person who had once been so integral to her life. "No um, i'm actually here for work," she replied, her voice a little more distant than she intended.

The girl studied Maeve for a moment, as if trying to decipher the emotions hidden behind her calm facade. "Cool, cool," she said finally, with a small smile. "I'm here with some friends. It's my first time in Miami, and let me tell you, it's been wild."

Maeve managed a polite smile, but her thoughts were elsewhere, drifting back to the moments she had shared in this very hotel with Charles. The races, the celebrations, the quiet moments stolen away from the chaos of the world—they all felt like distant echoes now, fading into the background of her new reality.

As the elevator doors slid open on her floor, Maeve stepped out, offering the girl a quick nod before disappearing down the hallway. She needed to find Charles, But as she walked, she couldn't shake the feeling that fate had something else in store for her, something she couldn't yet see.

Maeve's footsteps echoed softly against the plush carpet as she made her way down the hallway towards Charles' hotel room. With each step, her heart beat a little faster, anticipation mingling with apprehension. What would she say when she saw him? Would he even want to see her?

Reaching his door, Maeve hesitated for a moment, her hand hovering over the door. She took a deep breath, before knocking and the door open ring almost straight away.

"Charles," she finally said, her voice barely above a whisper.

His features before they softened into a smile. "Maeve," he breathed. They regarded each other for a moment, so much unspoken words hanging between the two of them. Then, without a word, Charles reached out and pulled her into his arms, holding her tightly against him.

"I've missed you," he murmured into her hair, his voice rough with emotion.

Maeve closed her eyes, savoring the feeling of being in his arms again, the warmth of his embrace chasing away the chill of uncertainty that had settled in her heart. "I've missed you too," she whispered, her voice catching on a swell of emotion, she truly missed him alot more than she actually wanted to admit to herself and even him.

The two of them stood like that for a long time, wrapped up in each other, the outside world fading away until there was only the two of them, together. And in that moment, Maeve didn't know what was going to happen next between them but for now she was safe here with Charles.
