Chapter 53: Secrets of The Past

In the past, the Solat and the Kharn continent belonged to a single superpower that was called Tenlir Republic: a semi presidential republic that possessed a vast arsenal of nuclear weapons and that was very advanced in the fields of bioengineering and quantum physics.

This republic was in a "cold war" with another superpower of the planet: the Casmis Federation.

To win that war they started an arm race and they also started studying the limits of the human/elven possibilities.

They started a "supersoldier" project trying to maximize the human/elven mind's potential by modifying their DNA (the "magic").

Their engineers managed to create individuals that were able to use their brain waves to interact with the molecular structure of the matter.

Thus, these people were able to manipulate matter in order to create fire, water and so on. The scientists also used quantum mechanics to equip these individuals with teleportation but they had to train a lot to be able to use it.

Invisibility was also possibile by modifying the skin's structure to not reflect light.

Barriers were also implemented by modifying the molecular strucuture of the air.

The project was going in a perfet way but when the enemy spies detected it they decided to sabotage it by destroying with orbital strikes some of the research facilities.

Thus, an escalation was inevitable and after some days a nuclear war broke brining a nuclear winter in the planet that wiped out a great chunk of the life on Mashus.

But the hope was not lost and some of the most brillant scientists of the Tenlir Republic survived in an underground bunker where they continued their experiment on "magic" and on the creation of a wormhole to a promising planet that they thought could host life called "Earth". But for now, they chose to stay in a crio sleep for about 1000 years (they chose to make the radation level to go down).

Meanwhile, on the surface the radiations started altering the DNA of many living beings and they had some "strange" effects on the humans/elvens that had their DNA altered by the experiments.

Many of them mutated creating the first demons and vampires and around them many other races were born: many animals also changed in what is known as a dragon, a wyvern and a gryphon. Instead, others mutated creating the first goblins and orcs.

The war also broke free some weird creatures that were kept locked in a stange lab: many demihumans, giants and even werewolves that were the result of some scientific experiments, conducted in parallel with the ones on "magic"and that also had the goal to create supersoldiers.

Of course, these experiments were highly unethical and conducted on criminals that had a deal with the state (stay behind the bars for the life or be set free after having accepted to partecipate a little "scientific project").

So what the princess narrated in her visit in Rome started happening and the world started turning a fantasy one. Then 1000 years after the war, the bunker survivors had finally managed to do something after the ending of their crio sleep.

"The antimatter acceleartor is working!" Yelled one of the scientists.

What happened before is narrated with confusion...

It seems that after having the wormhole working, it opened in the same place where it opened in 2026. So, the scounting team met the pre-roman civilizations that lived there (Central Italy).

The scientist even brought some of them to their planet where they saw dragons, "magic" and the first after war civilizations.

Then something happened (maybe the scientist were discovered and their bunker abandoned) and the scriptures don't say anything more.

Maybe, the people that crossed the portal to the new world told the tales of the magic they saw there inspring the fantasy stories in the future.

The portal for some reason was also shut down only to be reactivated 3 thousand years leader by the demon lord's army.

The rest is history....

"Incredible, what I theorized is true." Commented Giovanni Rossi during an important briefing regarding the recent discoveries.

"Gentlemen, now that we are able to undestrand the language I want everyone of you working day and night to these computers. Now a new phase of the operation will start. I will speak with the world leaders because we will have to actively intervene in the war between the Empire and the Solat Alliance before the Empire crumbles." General Coppelli stated.
