Happy Christmas to all 🎅

Start from the beginning

Karlyle walks across the snow in fur boots. Snow is so thick that it covers up to half of his calves. The white snow that fell all night has hidden away the traces of Bonbon, Gideon and Kara playing. So the only footprints visible outside the lodge now are Karlyle's.

"Hah", he lets out a white breath. He walks silently to the warehouse and opens the door. It looks like a traditional cottage, but its inside is equipped with a fireplace, helping it maintain a warm temperature.

As soon as he closes the door, the person waiting inside welcomes him very impolitely.

"Do you know what time it is, Karlyle?"

A handsome blonde man is half leaning back on the shelf. Despite his disheveled hair and sleepy face, his flawless face covers it all. However, his irreverence doesn't go with his handsomeness.

This guy used to make Kyle heartbreak in the past so he didn't like him very much at first. But these days, this guy has been saying various stupid things. Karlyle isn't sure how to feel about it.

But anyway, today he's at fault. He doesn't know why, but strangely, he fell for his trick, saying that it's for Kyle. As a result, he's here now.

"Don't you need my help, Nicholas?"

It's Nick himself who proposed the idea to make presents, but Karlyle is the only one who does it since Nick hasn't finished it though it's Christmas Day already. Nick crawled up to him right when the party last night ended and, not like him at all, asked Karlyle to help him finish his present early tomorrow morning. Perhaps Nick dared to ask him because he was over-drunk.

"How many years have we known each other? Are you going to abandon me, Kyle's lovely husband?"

Karlyle says nothing more as Nick mentions Kyle. He wants to see how happy his adorable brother will be when he receives Nick's gift. Karlyle gracefully asks for Nick's present to see how much he has done.

Nick carefully examines the surroundings as if he's hiding a treasure, then he takes it out of his fur coat. In his hands are knitting needles, yarn and an undone scarf.

"I couldn't finish this. I watched a hell of Youtube videos but no use. Usually, mothers are the ones skilled at this. But my mom is a different case."

And that talent of his is passed down onto Giden, that kid can't do anything by hand, either. The laws of genes prove its accuracy here, both Nick and his mother Nora have a surprising talent for messing up any delicate tasks, including cooking.

Karlyle looks at the bundle sticking out to him with calm eyes. When he unfolds it, a bundle of wool comes out from something that looks like a scarf. There are only green and red colors for Christmas, and it's barely long enough to put around Kyle's neck. Karlyle sighs as he sees the combination of scattered yarns that failed to form a pattern.

This...

Can he save this? He isn't confident he can.

"How is it? Does it look promising?"

Karlyle opens the scarf and examines it like a doctor. After careful observation, he comes to a conclusion that the knot can be tied. Nick said he would compete with sincerity this year so he didn't prepare other gifts. Karlyle has to save this to make Kyle happy.

"Let's give it a try."

As soon as Karlyle gives it a go, Nick claps his hands like a prayer and hugs him.

"I love you."

And an awkward silence follows. Nick awkwardly lets him, who is still stiffening in his posture, go and changes the subject.
