The ear piercing, shrilling sound of his phone's alarm cuts Taehyung's dream short as he jumps out of bed realizing that he was almost late for his first day of school. He had forgotten to reset it the previous night since he had fallen asleep amidst the pain inflicted on him by the one he called his father.
Shaking his head to clear his head from thoughts of preceding night, Taehyung made his way to the bathroom to get ready quickly because he was to trek to school today as he his bicycle chain had broken the day before yesterday and he didn't have enough money to get a new one and he obviously couldn't ask any of his two parental figures for some money to get a new one. Hopefully, his new shifts at the café he works at will pay him enough to get it changed before the week runs out.
'I really hope Jin hyung will let me work extra shifts, I really need the money'. Taehyung thought as he haphazardly shoved his left leg into one of his newer blue jeans. A little foundation and concealer to cover up the marks left his daddy dearest and a small amount of pink lip gloss later; he was finally ready to leave for his first day of senior year. 'Ten minutes, that's a new personal record'. He reflected as he made his way out the front door. Just one more year and he would far from his abusive parents and with a bit of luck, never see them again.
Taehyung loved school because it had served as his safe space after his work place, of course. The reason being that he was bullied for being a nerd or for being gay or for wearing makeup, which were some pretty good reasons to bullied for or so he has been made to know from the abundance of novels he had read over the years.
Twenty minutes later and he was standing at the entrance of his school. The gates weren't that large or tall but the compound itself was big enough to host all the extracurricular activities the students usually indulge in. Their basketball, football, baseball, table tennis court was the best around. It was a little expensive for a public school but the facilities and teachers were worth it and it could easily rival a private school. He was a little thankful to his parents for continually paying his fees even though they hated his existence, it was one of the reasons Taehyung hadn't already run from home.
"Taetae!" he heard a voice he knew very well, a tone he was quite familiar with as drew nearer to his locker which had the number 237, boldly written above it. It was his soul mate and best friend, Park Jimin. The little mochi who had stuck to him since first grade and hadn't let go ever since, not that Taehyung ever wanted him to.
"Good morning, tiny". He replied with a smile on his face and almost burst into a small chuckle as the little guy scrunched his brow together and stuck out his pink lips in a cute pout. Jimin really didn't like it when people called him mochi but this was his Taetae, so he always did nothing because Taehyung was his soul mate. But when others thought it wise to try it, he turned to one scary but adorable monster and kicks their ass.
"Taetae, stop with the name calling". Jimin whined, obviously not happy with the name but Taehyung smiled and gave him a hug, "I missed you". He told the little munchkin.
"I missed you too".
Note:
This is a new book I'm working on, obviously not my first one but I hope I've improved a little from last ones. The chapters will get longer, I hope...
