In a quiet little town, without any problems or significant events, lived Karel and Eloïsa Mause, an adorable couple who didn't harm anyone.

Karel often went on business trips, sometimes without warning, but his young wife didn't blame him. She was sweet and understanding. She had very long fiery hair, beautiful green eyes, and a face covered in freckles. Three years after they met, their daughter Lili was born. An adorable brunette, who had the particular trait of having a green eye on the left, like her mother, and a hazel eye on the right, like her father.

They were a united family, appreciated by all their neighbors.

However, on that evening, Eloïsa had locked herself in the attic, crying hot tears. She held her daughter close, trying to calm her own fear. In her right hand, she tightly held a broken twig... She was bleeding, injured on her arm, and Karel was knocking on the door, trying to open it.

The man with tousled black hair finally managed to dislodge the wooden panel and entered. His dagger in his right hand, he pointed the weapon at his wife.

"You!," he growled, furious. "Give me my daughter! Witch!"

"Karel..." the young woman moaned. "I beg you..."

The husband approached, forcefully pushing her arms aside to take the baby and gently soothe her, ignoring his wife's cries.

He looked at his companion with contempt, raising the dagger above her. The pleading and frightened eyes of the woman he loved made him hesitate for a second before he mercilessly struck her with the weapon, then left the attic while cradling his daughter gently.
