As Hu Tao and Xiao walked through the maze-like halls of their high school, their eyes wandered to the high ceiling. The old brick walls of the school seemed to trap the students within them, leading them down the same path day after day, stuck in the endless loop of classes and homework. But as they entered the hallway that led to their shared dormitory, the two felt a shift in the air.

For most students, the dorms were just a place to sleep at night, a way to escape from their families and the world outside. But for Hu Tao and Xiao, the dorms were a world of their own, a place where they could escape from the pressures of school and the expectations of others.

As they entered the dormitory, the smell of freshly baked cookies filled the air. They followed the scent and found themselves in the common room, where a group of their friends were gathered around a large table, playing cards and shouting in excitement over the game. Hu Tao joined the game and Xiao watched from a nearby couch, quietly observing the group.

As the night went on, the sounds of laughter and chatter filled the air. The friends played games, watched movies, and shared secrets like they did every weekend. But as the night wore on, the energy of the group began to wane and they all called it a night.

The two of them walked down the hall to their room, leaving the common room behind and entering their own little world. The room was small but cozy, with two beds side by side and a small window that looked out onto the courtyard. Hu Tao and Xiao had decided to share the space, knowing that it was too small for each of them to live alone.

As they settled in, there was a moment of silence between them. They both knew what they were each thinking, but neither one of them was willing to say it aloud. The tension hung in the air like a heavy weight, pressing down on them both.

It was Xiao who finally broke the silence, his voice soft and measured. "I just can't stand it here anymore," he said. "I feel like I'm losing my mind."

Hu Tao listened to him, nodding her head in agreement. She knew exactly what he meant. The school, the dorms, the constant pressure to fit in - it all felt too much at times. And yet, she couldn't deny the fact

As Hu Tao and Xiao sat in the small dorm room, the air felt heavy with the weight of their unsaid words. The silence stretched on, filling the space between them, as they both sat there lost in their own thoughts.

Finally, Hu Tao spoke up, her voice soft and gentle. "Do you want to talk about it?" she asked, looking up at him.

Xiao hesitated for a moment before nodding his head. "I don't know where to begin," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

Hu Tao smiled, reaching out to take his hand. "You don't have to start anywhere," she said. "We can just talk about whatever is on your mind."

And so the two of them talked late into the night, discussing everything from the simplest things in life to the most complex of ideas. They talked about their hopes and dreams, their fears and doubts, and the things that weighed heavily on their minds.

As they talked, Hu Tao realized that despite their differences, she and Xiao shared a deep connection. It was a connection that went beyond their physical selves, beyond their individual beliefs and opinions, and into something deeper and more profound.

As morning began to peek through the window, they fell asleep arm in arm, filled with a sense of calm and peace. And for the first time in a long time, both Hu Tao and Xiao felt a sense of belonging, a sense that they were part of something bigger than themselves.

As the school year progressed, things seemed to be going well for both Hu Tao and Xiao. They continued to spend time together in the dorms, exploring each other's interests and sharing their secrets. They would often stay up late, talking and chatting as they discovered new things about each other.
