Madame Phoenix: "Kelsey! Don't stray too far from the house ok? I love you! --------------"

I hear my mother cry out from the back porch, I didn't hear the last thing she said, but I don't think it's that important.

"I won't! I love you too!"

I say my goodbyes as I run to my hideout spot deep in the woods, I don't like lying to my mother but she would never let me go out this far.  My hideout spot is a large rock formation with a river flowing through it, it always reminds me of the training spot of anime protagonists and I enjoy letting my imagination run rampant around here.
Today, I decided to climb to the very top of the rocks, with the help of my Core it wasn't too hard of a climb. Once I reached the top, I screamed at the top of my lungs, a very mighty scream... Well, as mighty as a 7 year old can scream anyways-  After my large scream, I looked around and I saw... Something shiny in the distance. I quickly climbed back down and ran towards the object. When I reached the object I saw what I was... It was a sword, A real life sword! My 7 year old brain didn't think twice and I reached for the sword... That would be the biggest mistake of my life. The moment I touched the sword, the ribbon that was attached to its handle struck me through the chest. I can't entirely describe the pain of having your core destroyed, it just hurts... badly. After it stabbed through my chest and tore a hole in my chest, it quickly withdrew its ribbon and somehow, forced itself inside of my coreless body. I no longer felt the pain from 'dying', I felt fine. I shook my head and looked down at my chest again, hoping I was just imagining it... I wasn't. There it was, where a piece of my body was shattered and torn though, was now a glossy black patch of something that wasn't me. I thought I was going crazy and I felt weak, powerless, and scared. Then everything stopped once I heard a voice that wasn't my own ring through my head...

???????: "Hello Kelsey, my name is Ara-E-dael yet you may call me your new Ruler, thank you for being my new host. Glad we could come to this consensus." After that thing that was inside my body finished their speech, I blacked out.

The next thing I remember is waking up in the police station on the other side of a glass wall, chained to a vertical table. The only things I saw on the other side was the police chief and my mother, who was crying.

"Kelsey Dalton Phoenix, by losing your core... You have become a shattered. Since we are not sure what to do to a poor child... We will keep you here till you are 18, which then we will contact Sir Corian. Who will decide your fate."
