The Joy Of Having Insecurities

I am not the girl,
You like in pictures, you double tap,
Aesthetic beauty, vintage wrap,
I don't pose, I don't frown,
I'm no Queen, I don't own a crown.

I am not the girl,
You find posing in frames,
Running first, winning all games,
I only smile, walk clumsily and fall,
I can't even face a video call.

I am not the girl,
36-24-32, you flip in magazines through,
Picture perfect, flaws hardly a few,
But I've scars, imperfections as well,
I've lost their count, I can't even tell.

I am not the girl,
Who knows it all, each thing about,
The only questions I've, are of self doubt,
Am I not good enough?
Am I not worthy of love?

I am not the girl,
Who can fit into that perfect denim jean,
I'm not thin, slim or even lean,
Struggling in old clothes is still a pain,
As I never get to wear them again.

I am not the girl,
Who is photogenic, or has a model face,
I run after things I can't chase,
I have no hobbies, sometimes I write,
I'm nothing special, I lost every fight.

I am not the girl,
The 'wanna be' type, the Queen bee,
Far below average to see,
Not even the 'girl next door',
Living next to your apartment floor.

I am not the girl,
One would take home gladly,
Coz I'm not attractive, sadly,
I'm the one they abandon out of bore,
I've been disappointed uncountable times before.

I am not the girl,
Who can ace the perfect winged liner,
I'm messy, I can't be smooth or finer,
I don't even know how to apply nail paint,
I'm not loud and bold, just meek and faint.

I am not the girl,
With clear skin, white tone,
Or with twinkling eyes, curiosity shown,
I have acne, I have hair fall,
I don't attend parties, I avoid them all.

I am not the girl,
Flat stomach, perfect abs seen,
I've been an obese teen,
My tummy ruining all my pictures for me,
The perfect girl, why can't I be?

But, I am the girl,
Who gets up after every fall,
Faces the mirror on the wall,
Sets aims and achieves them all,
Keeps moving, whether I have to walk or crawl.

I am the girl,Who still smiles at each one,Like the sunflower which faces the sun,I am optimistic, I believe in me,There's always more than what the eye can see

I am the girl,
Who still smiles at each one,
Like the sunflower which faces the sun,
I am optimistic, I believe in me,
There's always more than what the eye can see.

I am the girl,
Who is insecure, but self-confident too,
I rise from the ashes and come back brand new,
On bad days, I wipe my own tears,
I am fearless, I conquer my fears.

I am the girl,
Who is perfectly imperfect, I have flaws,
Because for once if you think and pause,
You'll realise perfection is a myth, a false bar,
Just love yourself the way you are!

I am the girl,
Who knows that running behind beauty is fool's gold,
Being outspoken is my definition of bold,
Real girls aren't perfect, and perfect girls aren't real,
Beauty is skin deep, not fake, not surreal.
