'Getting Started'

'Why would she let the survivors leave? Does she want to get caught on purpose?' Angela ponders.

'I think she's trying to send a message to everyone involving her. Either way, we would just have to look deeper. Make sure to not trouble yourself about this anytime, okay? I will handle this.' Kai reassures and Angela nods as they finish their dinner and head to bed. The next morning, Kai walks into his department after dropping Angela off at her college. He heads over to his office and looks at a picture of a headless victim with a signature on his neck. Detective II walks in to check if Kai has arrived yet or not.

'How the hell are you able to eat your breakfast while looking at that damn bloody picture?' The Detective II shakes his head in disgust as Kai is still looking at the picture, eating a bagel.

'I'm just looking at this signature... is there any place that could have their business name shorten to C.I.H?'

'Why would you say that?' The Detective II inquires.

'Because this must be a shorten form of a business name or something, it could be a hint.' Kai asserts as Detective II pouts his lips. His name is Adam Scoffer, and no one knows how he even got his status because he's rude and not sharp at times. He's in his early thirties and finds Kai a bit "overdone" and nice to be here.

'And what if it's a shorten form of someone's name? Then what? It could even be an item for who knows what!' Adam claims which makes Kai hush up.

'I think Kai's right' Detective III walks in and looks at the both of them.

'Let's just start from one category and move on to the next, if nothing is found on companies, then start searching individuals' Detective III strategies which ticks Detective II off.

'Go on, get started' she orders.

'But isn't that way too tedious? What if it's not in this country?'

'Stop making damn excuses! I said get started, didn't I? We have researchers for a reason don't we, stop delaying this and go!' She cries which makes Adam hiss and leave. 'Why did they make this woman head of detectives anyway' he thought in anger as he grits his teeth and walks away.

'Thanks for defending me Miss Linda' Kai says to Detective III. Linda Triels, a straightforward lady and never gives up on her cases, anything that benefits the case is what she would do which Kai respects although he can't really do it himself because of personal reasons. Linda is very caring towards Kai though because she has a family overseas and has a cousin who's as young as Kai, maybe older. Linda and Adam are the highest-ranking detectives in their department and half the city. With that said, Linda and Adam are conveniently the same age and they pick on each other on almost every occasion or situation.

'It's no problem. Don't mind him, always trying to find reasons not to work. What does he think he does at a workplace anyway?' Miss Linda comments which make Kai shakes his head. Linda had always stand by Kai ever since he entered her department and trained him to become even better and Kai appreciates to have her around all the time.

'Anyway, did he give you any murder case report this morning?' Linda questions which Kai shakes his head with a troubled look on his face.

'That fool...' Linda comments with disappointment.

'Another murder report from- '

'Yes. A science student from Royal Service College was said to be murdered around midnight and a witness rushed in around sometime later around that hour. The witness's name is Ruby Amescar and she said the victim's name is Milly Vase but when the team went to investigate the scene, there was no body nor any traces of murder at the area' Linda fills in which worries Kai.
