"Attending a friend's birthday,"
he replied casually, eyebrow raised inquisitively.

"How about you?"

"Also attending a friend's birthday,"
I answered,
setting off toward the house with Atsumu trailing behind me.

"Do you know Kita-san?" I inquired, attempting to make sense of Atsumu's presence.

"Yeah, he's my senior from high school," Atsumu explained,
prompting a nod of understanding from me.

As we approached the entrance,
I made a mental note to keep my distance from Atsumu,
still feeling the remnants of annoyance from our earlier encounter.
However, his playful insistence prevented me from distancing myself entirely.

Before I could step inside, Atsumu's gentle grip on my shoulder caused me to turn back toward him.
His words, though teasing, carried a hint of sincerity as he implored me not to leave him outside.

"I'm not here for you, Atsumu,"
I asserted, meeting his gaze with a firm resolve.

His playful demeanor faltered slightly at my words, but a chuckle escaped his lips nonetheless.

"Aw, that's sad. But I'm actually happy to see you here,"
he remarked with a playful twinkle in his eye.

"You were?"
I questioned,
skepticism coloring my tone as I sought to decipher Atsumu's intentions.

The door swung open before us, and I gasped in disbelief as I laid eyes on the familiar face standing before me.

"Rintarou?!"
I exclaimed, unable to contain my surprise.

"Y/n?!"
he echoed, mirroring my astonishment.

Without hesitation, I rushed forward and enveloped him in a tight embrace, feeling the warmth of familiarity wash over me.

It had been a decade since I last saw my childhood best friend,
and seeing him now, taller and more mature,
filled me with an overwhelming sense of nostalgia and joy.

Atsumu's jaw dropped in astonishment as he witnessed our heartfelt reunion, his expression a mix of curiosity and disbelief.

The sight of two old friends embracing seemed to catch him off guard,
leaving him momentarily speechless.

Breaking away from the embrace, Rintarou chuckled warmly,
his eyes reflecting genuine happiness.

"How many years has it been?"
he asked, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips.

"Almost a decade," I replied softly,
still processing the surreal moment.

"You've grown so much, y/n,"
Rintarou remarked,
his gaze filled with fondness.

"Likewise,"
I chuckled, feeling a swell of pride at the man he had become.

"You've turned into quite the handsome man," I added,
unable to hide my admiration.

"You too, y/n. Where's that clumsy little girl in you now?"
He teased.
