Allegiances

Danny let his feet touch the floor flat.

"Normally people ask how I died, but well, I'm only half dead so..."

Domino rubbed his face with an exhausted sigh.

"It was a lab accident. Back when I lived with my parents-"

Domino perked up, he never talked about his past before.

"They had created a ghost portal, an entry way to a place actually called limbo, not the ghost zone and I activated it. While inside."

Domino cringed.

"I was electrocuted and ectoplasm seeped into me changing my DNA, keeping me alive"

"So what's the deal with crown and, living cape?"

Danny grinned.

"Well, after activating the portal ghosts kept coming through so I had to put them back. I defeated the ghost kind Dark Parish who wanted to take over the human world."

Domino shook his head.

"We really knew nothing about you"

Danny tilted his head thinking.

"Nah, you knew me you just didn't know Phantom, that's what I called myself in this form."

Domino nodded.

"So this Vlad has powers like you?"

Danny nodded.

"But he wouldn't dare try anything now that I'm the ghost king"

Domino shook his head.

"Aren't ya shirking your royal duties right now then"

"Well, I have advisers that do the heavy lifting, a king is more of a symbol to the ghost zone, just to keep them in line"

Danny almost laughed at Domino's face.

"Hey Danny, FUCKING HELL!" a voice shrieked.

Danny whipped around to see Yonkers.

"Oh hey Yonkers" Danny said waving.

Yonkers seemed a little woozy.

"Domino, what in the FUCK is that?" Yonkers demanded.

Domino looked from Danny to Yonkers.

"It's Danny" Domino said with a straight face.

Yonkers raised a brow.

"I'm gonna need an explanation. Right now."

Danny sighed and switched back. Yonkers blinked a few times to be able see after being blinded by Danny's sudden white flash of light.

"I'm a half ghost, yes ghosts are real." Danny went into a deep explanation of his powers and why he had needed Vlad's help.

Yonkers shook his head.

"Your killing me Danny" Yonkers said sitting down.

"I just want you guys to trust me. I know it might seem strange that I'm working for Bruce Wayne, but I won't let anything happen to you guys"

Yonkers put his hand on Danny's shoulder.

"I know, I wasn't even worried about it. I've always trusted you Danny, even more so now"

Danny nodded firmly.

"So, what do you do with all those powers now that your not fighting off ghosts"

Danny sighed sitting down, his legs aching.

"Not much, they have been a little off. It's probably a side effect to the treatment like how my legs are weaker."

Yonkers waved his hand as if dismissing something.

"Can't you ask this Vlad for help, you both have the same powers."

Danny looked away with a grimace.

"I don't WANT his help" Danny said.

"But your not wrong, it going to kill my pride, but the problem is he's currently in Wisconsin"

Yonkers scoffed.

"That's not a problem, did you think you were just going to go alone? Me and Domino will take you"

Domino looked surprised to be included.

Danny smiled and took a nice, deep breathe of relief.

"Thanks, I'll make arrangements with Alfred to get time off"

The next day Danny did exactly that, then they were all set.

When Vlad's doorbell rang he expected it to be a package, not two gangsters and Danny.

"Daniel, what a surprise" Vlad said.

Yonkers scowled, he could already tell why Danny didn't like Vlad.
