Our main protagonist, David Shaw is a tech-savvy child prodigy at New Horizons Academy, a high school for young geniuses located in the fictional city of New Eden, the robotics capital of the world. he is the son of the late Ryan Shaw, deceased former CEO of Shaw Industries which is now run by the corrupt Adam Gould. since his father's death, David and his mother Emma have been falling on hard times. David may seem like a smart but socially-awkward teen on the surface, but he's got a secret identity: when rogue robots corrupted by the evil Ragnarok virus threaten the city of New Eden, David will use his self-made tech (made with the assistance of his also-genius classmate Karen Thorne) including a belt known as the power driver and special key cards laced with animal DNA known as DNA drives to transform into the grasshopper-themed superhero Power Rider Code One to protect New Eden from Ragnarok's forces!

David Shaw's best friend/classmate at New Horizons Academy, Karen like David is also a gifted teen genius who often collaborates with him on building his inventions to help protect the city of New Eden from Rogue Robots. she also serves as his "guy in the chair" er... girl in the chair while David is fighting on the front lines as the Power Rider, sitting on the computer analyzing the situation giving him advice through an earpiece.
