Quick note

This is a sequel to my other story called 'XO' (yes, I know I'm not very creative with names) so if you haven't read that yet I recommend that you, save this till later and read that. I'm only saying this because, as with any sequel, this will make more sense if you've read the first book. You really don't have to though, I mean I think this will make sense on its own but it's just better to read the first one for all the background stuff lol. Furthermore, I'm not going to spend much time introducing and describing established characters because, although it's kind of bad, I just like to get straight to drama lol. For those of you who have read 'XO' this story may seem be a tad more explicit with a few more mature themes but not so much, it should still suit the same audience I had before. Thanks for reading, I hope you all enjoy!

Chapter One

"Have you got everything Alex?" My mum asked staring at me as she stood by my bedroom door with her beautiful almonds we call eyes. Today they were glistening with excitement and maybe even a little bit of nerves. I really don't know why she was so hyped; I was the one starting at a brand new school not her.

"I think so," I replied smoothing down my tie. My new school was a little bit weird. Although being 'a college for young, aspiring adults' as the brochure I had been given by them weeks ago read, it still required for all of its students to follow the strict uniform policy. It was a simple uniform and to be honest, it was a better uniform than the one I had at secondary school. This uniform featured a black, tailored blazer and black tie, skirt and jumper if I wanted. "Does my hair look okay?"

Mum walked into my room then fixed a few strands of my braid-out ponytail. I had to look good today, everyone had to look good today, it was my first day. First. Day. After she had finished and I had managed to force myself to eat a proper breakfast consisting of cereal and pancakes that my mum had made especially for the occasion I decided to head out. It really wouldn't have been that much of deal if I wasn't going to Wilmington Academy but I was and so, this was big. Honestly, I was buzzing with excitement. Ever since the Academy opened it had been my dream to get a place and study there and now that I was finally going it felt surreal, as if it shouldn't really be happening to me but it was and I could hardly contain my emotions.

Aaliyah: Good luck on ur first day!! Make sure u snapchat me if you see any sexy darkskin boys okay? Sfe my g xoxox lol

Read the WhatsApp message I had gotten from Aaliyah. I smiled then texted her back straight away. Aaliyah knew what to say to make me stop feeling nervous. She wasn't going to the Academy with me and I was really quite upset about that. She had decided to go to another college on the other side of town from the Academy along with Shay and a few other people from my old school. A part of me still wished that I had accepted my place at the same college as them but I needed to start everything again, fresh and new. After everything that had happened in year eleven it was the only sensible option, even if it did mean distancing myself from my two best friends.

"Rah! Is that you yeah?! Swear down looking all official and that!" A voice called at me as I approached my bus stop. I knew exactly who it was without even turning around, Cale. I didn't exactly leave everyone from my old school behind.

"You ain't looking too bad either," I replied analysing him. For once in his life, Cale had neatly tied his tie up to the top of his shirt which surprisingly was buttoned up all the way and he was actually wearing brand new school shoes rather than just all black Air Forces. I know it's weird but he looked good in his uniform, he looked smart...it suited him. "But please tell me why you copied me jumping on the Kickers flex?"

"For fucks sake Alex you've been spending way too much time with Aaliyah this summer you know! About 'jumping on the Kickers flex', we're going to Wilmington Academy darling; you need to speak proper Standard English not fucking hoodrat." Cale replied with a grin. "And I've been on the flex from time baby girl, don't think you're bad just cos' you copped the shiny ones."
