"Quiet," I whispered both of us going out the back entrance. "Alright, well they're going to be pissed when they find out we are gone."

"Maybe they won't notice we are gone?" I gave her a side look. "Yeah, we should hurry."

We started walking faster. They would realize we were gone. The children of Valentine. they would want to keep an eye on us. My phone kept buzzing. I didn't want to answer it because if I had to speak with Alec, I would just admit what we were doing. Clary's too so she pulled her's out.

"It's Jace," She muttered. I narrowed my eyes trying to consider if it was a good idea or not. She slid her finger across the screen. "Hey."

"Ah," I put my hands in front of her face like I could claw out her eyes. "Why would you answer?" She put it on speaker.

"Where are you?"

"In my room," I lied. Someone honked behind us. "With the window open." Clary cringed at my response.

"You have to get back here now," Jace reasoned. "You both are going to have restrictions soon."

"What do you mean?" Clary asked.

"Just get back here."

"We're here, but it's just really loud let me shut the window," I hung up.

"Lena!" Clary gasped. I shook my head and pulled her forward.

"We have to find the cup before they try to get us under restrictions." We both moved to the back entrance of our house. The alleyway was covered with spray paint.

"Woah," Clary muttered. "Have these been here the whole time?" She looked around at the graffiti that filled the walls and the backside of the house. The runes were everywhere. Always have been.

"Yup."

"Hey, what are all of these tags?" Simon asked as he strolled forward.

"You can see these?" I pointed to the wall. He nodded.

"Wow," Clary smiled as she walked over with him. The two climbed up the fire escape. Clary went to open the door, but it didn't budge. "That's a problem."

"Let me try," Simon stepped forward yanking the door open.

"Uh," I stared at him. He's never been strong, I mean he's a guy, but he's still Simon.

"Damn Simon been in the gym lately," Clary laughed at him. Simon let me walk in after Clary. We looked around both of us going to our rooms. Everything was burned. Someone had come in to torch the place.

"This is lovely," I sighed moving back out. All of my stuff was gone.

"Clary, I'm gonna be downstairs," I said.

She and Simon were standing in the remains of her room. I walked down the stairs listening for movement, but there wasn't any. I started searching through the drawers that weren't turned over. Someone cleaned this place out. I heard movement behind me.

"Did you guys find anything?" I asked.

The moment I turned something hit me in the face. My sight blurred as my eyes watered. I think they broke my nose. I stumbled back, but they pulled me forward.

"Why are we waiting?"

"He told us to wait." I blinked hard my face stiff. Slowly I started to remember where I was and what had happened. I was kidnapped. They broke my nose.

"She's awake. Hey sweetheart," A man smiled as he leaned forward. I flung my head forward hitting his nose with my forehead. "Ah fuck!"

"I told you not to go near her," The other guy grabbed him as they both backed up. I couldn't breathe through my nose as I looked around. It was a closet or a backroom.
