the war stops when...

I think all of this suffering ends when we lay on the green grass amidst mountains on a dark night, counting the stars near by a calm lake in silence. i can almost feel your smile in the darkness. suddenly it all goes away. it fades into nothingness and I can't even trace the origin of the sorrow i carried in this heart for so long. feels like a burden has been lifted off now.

I think this ends when we peel off the tangerines by the porch on a winter evening.
when the gray of december clashes with the tenderness in our hands
when nights are made of lilac dreams
when the sky is filled with sun kissed clouds
when love is the air that I breathe.

I think the war ends when we meet by the sunflower field like we used to when we were kids, oblivious of everything yet full of life. i remember the summers back then, long, beautiful, filled with laughter, citrus breaths, lemon taste on our tongues, sun on our palms.

I think the world ends when I cup your face and look into your eyes as if you've never been looked at like this before, when you kneel to me and chant my name thousand times as if I'm your God in the month of august.
