CHAPTER 24

“I'm planning to launch another set of branch in Visayas.” Sabi niya saka sumimsim din ng kape na kabibigay lang sa kanila ng isang staff.

Lia's excited expression is visible, “for real?! That's good to know!”

Fashie chuckles, this girl really supports her with everything she does. “Mm, yes. Will you help me?”

Lia abruptly nodded, here comes again the business minded and interior designer.

They talk about the branch she's planning to build and where is the best location for it. They just continued talking until Fashie notice the time, 8 pm. She needs to go back to Manila, may kailangan pa siyang ayusin do'n.

So even it is already late at night, Fashie left the cafè. 

When Fashie was already inside her car, she called Carisha. Baka kasi hindi pa ito umuuwi dahil sinabi niyang magbantay ro'n habang wala siya.

“Hello, Carisha,” Fashie said when Carisha answered the call.

“Oh, hi, Fashie.”

“Are you still at the cafè?” Hindi naman kasi panggabi ang babae, pang-day lang.

“Yes, nasaan ka ba?”

“Pauwi palang ako. You can go home na, Gabby is waiting for you.” Kawawa naman ang future inaanak niya, wala na nga ang Mommy nito sa umaga, pati ba naman sa gabi.

“Is it okay? Walang magbabantay rito.”

Fashie removed her heels, “yes. Nandiyan na ba si Garry?” Garry is also one of those staffs she trusted.

“Yes, kanina pa, around five.”

“Okay, sige, uwi ka na. Tatawagan ko siya.”

“Alright, take care there, Fashie.”

She smiled, “bye, take care, Mommy.”

Fashie called Garry as soon as Carisha hang up the call.

“Good evening, ma'am.” Garry greeted.

“Good evening, Garry. Pinauwi ko na si Carisha, baka mga 2 hours pa ako bago makarating diyan. Ikaw muna ang bahala ha?”

“Opo, ma'am Fashie. H'wag kayong mag-alala rito sa cafè. Ingat po.”

It feels good to have good people around you. “Thank so much, Garry.” Her staffs really deserves an increase salary.

Fashie remove her coat and just leave her white bodycon short dress. Tinanggal niya ang pagkakapusod ng buhok at bahagyang sinuklay iyon. She open the roof of her car and then maneuvered the car.

It's been 30 minutes that passed, Fashie stopped at the side of the road, remove here seat belt and check the wheel of her car.

Napasapok nalang siya sa ulo nang makitang flat ang gulong ng sasakyan niya. Wala siyang dalang extra wheel at tools. And even she have those equipments, she doesn't know how!

Nang ilibot ni Fashie ang paningin ay napayakap siya sa sarili at biglang natakot. Madilim ang lugar, walang kabahayan at mga streetlights lang na may kalayuan ang mga pagitan. Puro puno, damo at walang kabahayan.

She went inside, close the roof of the car and open her phone. Fashie felt hopeless seeing there's no even one signal.

Kagat labing napabuntong hininga siya at napatingin ulit sa paligid. Ilang minuti na ang lumipas ngunit wala ni isang sasakyan ang dumaan. She check the time, 7:40 pm.

Lumabas muli siya sa sasakyan at naghintay na may dumaang sasakyan. Ten minutes had passed, no car passed. Another ten minutes, wala pa ring sasakyan. 30 minutes later, wala parin. She's losing hope, lumalalim na ang gabi, mas lalong imposibleng may dumaan do'n.
