"jule!" molly grumbled, giving him a look which jule promptly ignored. he needed to know where devon stood, so he could further decide what to do.
"i don't know what's going on. we haven't talked" dev answered, still looking away from jule's piercing gaze.
"and how do you feel about that?" he pressed, looking uncharacteristically stressed.
"i don't care, i guess"
"well, jack invited us over for summer" he announced, not looking away from dev so he could catch her reaction, which is why he didn't miss the way her body stiffened.
"what?!" sunny exclaimed, looking actually surprised and dumbfounded at the same time.
"oh my god" molly whispered, rubbing her hands through her face.
"does quinn know?" dev prompted, trying her hardest to swallow the lump on her throat.
"i'm not sure. he just told me to ask you guys if you wanted to come to the lake house next week, said they were inviting a bunch of friends" julien couldn't take his gaze away from her. he was concerned, and for a good reason.
julien had been with devon through it all, sunny and molly hadn't been there to see how broken she had been and how hard it had been for her to get out of that part of her life. he was concerned cause it had taken devon a long time to finally snap back into her life and now with quinn's sudden appearance, he was worried she would close off again.
julien honestly had no idea what to think of quinn. they had been good friends when quinn and devon were a couple but once it all went down he chose devon's side and he wouldn't admit it but a part of him grew to hate quinn for ever hurting his sister. but even now, he couldn't deny that he wanted devon to talk to quinn again, so she could get the closure she deserved, even if she ended up getting more hurt in the process.
"oh, of course. cause i just have money lying around" sunny rolled her eyes, grumbling at jack's insensitive ass.
"he also said he was gonna pay for them all" jule said, shutting sunny up with a smirk "look, i just told him i'd think about it, so i'm asking you" jule said, leaning closer to her.
"i don't know jule, i know you want to see them but i'm not sure i'm ready yet"
"that's totally fine" he assured, smiling at her reassuringly.
"you guys could go, i don't mind"
"if you don't come with us" jule started, getting interrupted by sunny who finished his sentence.
"we won't go"
"we can't go without you" molly smiled, grabbing her hands from across the table.
"yeah, imagine seeing a bunch of handsome tall hockey players for a week straight, ew!" sunny snorted, purposely exaggerating so devon could laugh, the tension finally rolling of her shoulders.
"i'll think about it, okay?"
