23: Dark Guild Takeout #2

*Mario's pov*

How I hated seeing that face again. Something about it just made me want to just barf. Not like I have anything to heave out other then my own stomach acid and dirt. His old rustic and sooth voice echoed as I growled

"I'm not here for any of that." I bluntly stated as the slight smile that he had disappeared and he looked at me disappointed

"After all that we've done for you. Take you in , gave you a home, food and water-" I cut him off

"You made me into a monster! I would have rather lived on the streets then become a cold monster that hurt others" I yelled as I stepped forward my fist clenched.

"You should be grateful we gave you a life" the dark guild leader stated

"You gave me nothing but regret and misery, but this ends now!" I yelled before I hit the ground and the ground crumbled under both of us as we fell and I landed on the ground perfectly fine while the dark guild leader used the falling rubble to make a softer landing

"So be it" he moved his hands before shooting a dark orb which I dodged before I hit the ground with my fist and I pulled up dirt hitting it twords the man I used to call guild master

It was nonstop back and forth with me throwing earth at him or making spikes go after him. He dodged or countered sending attacks back that I avoided. I know they have some bad effects on people. However I smelled Boat, Kit, and Tapio getting close so I made earth spikes twords the leader before hitting the ground making the ground form a wall as Boat called out my name

"Stay out of this this is my fight!" I yelled quickly dodging a dark orb.

"But we can help!" Boat yelled as the guild master chuckled

"Declining friends help. Honestly should have taken it" he hissed with his gross voice before he made a magic circle and shot another orb and I moved out of the way but it wasn't an ordinary orb. The orb blew into smaller quicker shots one hitting me in the shoulder as I slightly winced

"What's wrong? Feeling weak?" He cackled as I glared but he's right that attack drained energy.

"Mario!" Kit yelled and I ignored her as I hit the ground pulling up dirt and shot it again. The guild leader dodged and held out his hand with a smile

"Your loss" he said before I felt something hit my back and I looked behind me to see what it was but it was nothing. That was my mistake as a orb came from the front hitting me in the stomach pushing me back as I slightly hit the wall before collapsing down to a knee

"Damnit..." I gridded my teeth as I glared up only for my old guild master to push me down fully with his foot

"Darkness magic isn't the only magic I have you know. My death magic is my main magic and it's a forbidden art. It'll drain your life source and energy until your a husk just like me." He chuckled with a grin as my heart sunk a bit with dread but I didn't want to give up. I'm not going to lose like this!

"Shut up..." I softly said angrily but he ignored me

"It'll be so nice to have my dragonslayer back, we'll be an unstoppable force." He laughed before the earth wall got blasted through by Boat as he stood opposite end to me water floating around him

"Get your foot off him!" Boat yelled glaring.

"Oh, you, well I'll take care of the rest of you now I guess. People in the guild are useless for not finishing you guys off" he turned getting his foot off me and I looked up a bit, panic in my eyes as I gripped the ground

"Boat! Don't do this! Get out of here" I yelled but Boat only looked at me then looked at the guild leader as a fight started.

Kit and Tapio we're off to the sides as the walls had crumbled a bit. I watched Boat try taking on this man but he was going to end up in the same situation as me if this continued.... I growled as I moved, my anger fueled me as I felt this sparking sensation. Power flares as my sense of protection heightened to a new level and then, I roared

*3rd person*

Boat was pushed back as the dark leader grinned at him ready to use another spell before the ground shook and a roar echoed all around the building. Tilting his head to the side Boat's eyes widened as he looked at Mario, scales on his face and his eyes lit with a ground shaking flame inside. The crusty guild leader turned as Mario growled at him taking a step forward

"You will step away from my friend, my family, or face my wrath!" Mario yelled as he stood his ground.

"Hahahaha you think this little power up is going to give you the strength you need to face me?" Dark guild leader asked before Mario bolted hitting him in his stomach launching him back hitting the wall next to Boat who was startled before the ground opened under him and he fell in the ground closing afterwards.

"Ugh, what is this.... How do you have this much power" dark guild leader demand looking up as Mario walked forward looming over the guild leader while Boat was brought out again near Kit but he still could see the fight

"Because I have family to protect" Mario flatly remarked before taking a big inhale and the guild leaders eyes widened

"EARTH DRAGON ROAR!" Mario internally yelled as he blasted the guild leader through several walls with that dragon roar before he panted and sighed.

"Woah... That was so cool!" Kit cried as she ran over and hugged Mario and he looked at her and smiled.

"Ya, glad you guys are ok" Mario said as he hugged back

"Man and I don't get why you aren't a higher rank this is remarkable." Boat commented as Mario looked at him

"Ya...it's guild leader choice." Mario looked down before he felt a hand on his shoulder.

"You did great." Boat smiled as Tapio ran over to them

"You look different. Like scales" Tapio pointed at Mario

"Scales?" Mario put his hand on his face then blinked surprised"

"I-... I guess I have scales ya" Mario was surprised by this but Boat chuckled

"It's a power boost that slayers get. Take a few deep breaths and calm down and it should go away" Boat gently instructed as Mario let go of Kit and Kit backed up letting Mario calm down.

Mario sighed as he looked at them again and Kit suggested they go home and everyone agreed. Tapio tagged along and well during the journey back they kinda had to explain to him the situation so that he wouldn't say anything about Mario when they get back. They also quickly found out Tapio is kinda also a wanted cat so works out perfectly that he's coming with them. Gotta end the trip with something crazy, right?
