first dates, first impressions, the start of all the firsts. She was a hopeless romantic. And so all her firsts dates where just that. A first and the only one. She had all these standards and rules. That the idea of a second date was foreign to her.

Firsts, that's all she knew. And some would say all she would ever know. That was until one grocery visit.

Rule #1
never take a random home

roaming the store looking for all the ingredients for Monkey bread. She sets her cart aside as she steps into the frozen section. Looking at her list of ingredients and she bends down to pick the buttered biscuit containers. Perfect two containers left! With a smile plastered on her face she reaches for the containers but another hand cuts her off.

She pauses for a second before she turns around. She looks up to a man who is now holding the second container that she needs. With a frown setting over her features she gazes up to the man with pleading eyes. "Is there any way I could take that from you?" She knew it was a bold ask but she had been dying to test out this new recipe.

The man looks down to her with a sorry look. "I just lost my personal cook, and I'm really hungry this is about the only thing I know how to make." He blurts out his face changing over to a meek smile as he raises his hand to rub the back of his neck. Ideas run through her mind of how she can get the last ingredient that she needs to make her beloved dessert. She stares at the bland cart of instant food he has.

A light bulb goes off in her head as she smiles to him. "What if I cooked you food? I'm sure I could make something better than instant noodles and biscuits" she wasn't even sure why she had offered this. As she knew her number one rule was to never let a stranger into her home. But he had this familiar feeling to him, a sense of warmth. The way his eyes looked at her she felt as though he wouldn't hurt a fly.

They both look down to his stomach as a loud grumble comes from within. "I want to say no, but I think I might starve." He gives a cheeky smile to her as she nods. She begins to plan a meal in her brain and motions him to follow her as she gets more ingredients.

They share the shopping trip laughing and sharing stories about their past. They get to know each other as they shop for dinner for her to make.

Rule #2
Don't be a sports player

Okay, maybe this was a weird rule but it needed to be set. Her first ever boyfriend, TRAGIC! He played baseball, captain of the team in college. He was a complete dirtbag after the first year of dating. And most of her rules came from him. She never wanted to stoop that low again. So after him she swore off sports men, especially baseball players.

As the stranger walked into her house a question alarmed in her head. She didn't even know this man's name. As he helps her with groceries she turns around. Slowly realizing that this man could kill her if he wanted to. "I just realized we never even gave each other our names." He lets out a laugh as he realizes the incident that had occurred.

"I think I was just blinded by the idea of a good meal I was to happy too come along. I'm Aaron judge."

A few alarms went off in her brain. She definitely heard that name somewhere. Maybe he was a killer. "I feel like I've heard that name before..."

"Oh, yeah so that's probably because I'm a major league baseball player. I'm the captain of the New York Yankees"

Baseball.
