Chapter 5: End of File

Start from the beginning

Loki gasped and breathed heavily. The sight of his and (Y/n)'s dead bodies laying in the floor of the ship was too much for him and he look away for a second.

When he glanced back up, he saw Thor leaning over them, sobbing for their deaths as the ship exploded. The screen then went blank.

'END OF FILE'

Loki stood in silence for a moment, before a soft laugh escaped him. Then he laughed louder. And louder.

"What's so funny?" Someone asked behind him.

Loki stopped laughing. "Glorious purpose."

He turned around and stalked towards B-15, and she came towards him as well. Loki threw a punch but B-15 blocked it and grabbed Loki's arm, twisting it and slamming him down into the table.

Loki grabbed the Time Turner off the table, and maneuvered out of B-15's grasp, pinning her arm behind her back. Loki used the device to remove the collar and attached it to her neck instead.

B-15 turned around and tried to attack him, but Loki used the device to teleport her away.

He breathed heavily for a moment, and looked down at the small device. Curiosity got the better of him, and he messed with the device bringing B-15 back into the room.

She ran forward a few steps and then Loki teleported her away.

Then he made her come back.

"Stop—."

And sent her away.

Then she came back.

"—It!"

Then away.

Then back.

"Stop it!"

Then away. Then he angrily began messing with it over and over again teleporting in and out of the room very fast.

"St...stop...it...Stop...I...St...Sto...St..."

Finally, he stopped, teleporting her out of the room, and tossing the small device back onto the table.

He grabbed the Tesseract, and sat on the floor of the theater, with his head in his hands. Thinking over everything he had just seen. His mother's death, his father's death...(Y/n)'s death.

He still couldn't believe she was dead. She wasn't supposed to die. They were supposed to get married. They were supposed to have a family, and grow old together. But now, none of that was going to happen.

The door to theater suddenly opened, and Mobius stepped in, holding a pruning stick.

"Loki? Nowhere left to run." He cautioned.

Loki stared down at his lap. "I can't go back can I? Back to my timeline. Back to (Y/n)." At the mention of (Y/n), he looked up at Mobius. "Does...does she really die? Does he really...kill her?" He asked, his eyes begging Mobius to tell him it wasn't true.

Mobius gave him a sympathetic look, giving him his answer. "I'm sorry. I...I was hoping you wouldn't have had to see that..."

"But...if she's dead, then how is she here?"

"She was a Variant." Mobius revealed. "She did something that was against the Sacred Timeline and was arrested and stood trial like you did. And like you, I vouched for her and convinced Judge Renslayer to not have her pruned and instead have her work with me. However, she only agreed if her memories were erased. So she wouldn't try to escape." He explained.

"So, what? You just kidnapped her and stripped her of her memories, turning her into another one of your puppets?" Loki replied angrily.

"Well, it was either that, or she'd be dead." Mobius pointed out.

"I want to see her. I want to talk to her." Loki requested, though it sounded more like a demand.

Mobius was hesitant. He promised Renslayer he wouldn't let him near her, but on the other hand, it might be more of an incentive to get Loki to cooperate. "Answer my question first, and I'll see what I can do." He bargained.

Loki sighed. "...I don't enjoy hurting people. I...I don't enjoy it. I do it because...I have to...because I had to."

Mobius nodded. "Okay, explain that to me."

"Because it's part of the illusion. It's the cruel, elaborate trick conjured by the weak to inspire fear." Loki emphasized.

"A desperate play for control. You do know yourself." Mobius said, sounding impressed.

"A Villian." Loki confirmed.

Mobius shook his head. "That's not how I see it."

Loki sighed and picked up the Tesseract.

Mobius smirked. "You try to use that?"

"Oh, several times. Even an Infinity Stone is useless here. The TVA is formidable." Loki commented.

"That's been my experience." Mobius agreed. "Listen, I can't offer you salvation, but maybe I can offer you something better. A fugitive Variant's been killing our Minutemen."

Loki stood up and approached Mobius. "And you need the God if Mischief to help you stop him?"

Mobius nodded. "That's right."

"Why me?"

"The Variant we're hunting is...you."

Loki furrowed his brows.

"I beg your pardon?"
