But to make her believe that they didn't care about her and just threw her away like trash? Wasn't right, he might not care about many humans or vampires, but he cared about her. And he knew that she felt alone, her uncle clearly didn't care about her, especially if he let her get hurt in that stupid church of his. Her parents were dead, her grandmother dead, her aunt always at Bill's side. Who did she have? At a time, she did have people in her corner, she had people around her that cared about her, and they were all here, in the same place. The people here, knew who she was, smiled at her, talked to her, because they knew who she was. But they didn't tell her that they knew who she was, because they were told not to tell her. But they did know her, they watched her grow up. They cared about her, she was born and grew up in this nest. This was once her home too. But right now, she needed someone. She felt alone, and that wasn't right. She had went through a traumatic experience, and she didn't deserve to be alone. He may be a dick to everyone else around him, but to her, he will always be her shoulder to cry on, he will always be there for her. Even when she does leave, and if she comes back, he will still be there for her. Because he cared about her.

He turned away from his maker and started walking away. "Eric, don't", it was a makers command, and he knew he had to follow it. He knew he couldn't tell her the truth, but he could still comfort her. He continued walking away. Until he saw her, at the humans table, where the human food was. He smirked softly to himself and made his way over to her. She was talking and smiling with someone. But that person took one look at him and frowned and walked away. Of course it was a human, it's always the humans that get scared and walk away with their metaphorical tails in between their legs. He rolled his eyes. Humans. He watched as Danielle turned around to face him, and he knew she didn't expect him to be there, especially when she jumped at his presence. The smirk only grew in size at the thought. She was so tiny and small, she was shorter then his maker and that was saying something. "Jesus Eric! You scared the shit out of me! Don't do that!", she scolded him as she gently slapped her hand against his chest. Which felt like the slightest tap. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you", but with the smirk that was on his lips, she knew he didn't mean it. She rolled her eyes at his words. "Yeah, sure you are. Your like a freaking cat. I should put a bell on you", he could only chuckle softly at the thought of her trying to put a bell on him, she could try, but he would never let her. Danielle sighed softly. "So, you here to make me apologize to your maker? I mean, I did yell at him in a house full of vampires, don't know if you guys call that being disrespectful", she muttered under breath. She was very much still angry with the older vampire. She still thought he sent her away because he didn't care about her. She was so confused about everything, she knew that she knew him from her past, she knew both of them from her past. She just couldn't remember the past and it really sucked. Because she hated not knowing shit that she should know.

Eric lost the smirk on his lips, his lips going back to a thin line on his face. He gently placed a hand on her arm. "I know your confused, and I know he's not making any of it better, believe me, I want to tell you, but I can't. But I think when the right time comes around, you'll know the truth. But don't believe for a second that we threw you away, that we sent you away because we didn't care about you. It's a long story, but I can tell you this, we do care about you, and the only reason we sent you away, is to keep you safe. We thought sending you away would keep you safe, we aren't safe Danielle, we attract danger in every way, I know you want the truth, and you will, in time. You just need to wait a little longer. But just know, I will always be here for you", for the first time in ten years, he felt like his old self, he was the softie, but with only her. He couldn't be the way he was with other people, with her. He just didn't have it in him to. She made him feel other things that other people didn't. She made him feel.............human.

He wrapped a arm around her and pressed his lips to her forehead softly. He pulled away after a few seconds. But it didn't take long for him to feel her wrap her arms around him. Hugging him, he didn't hesitate to wrap his arms around her and bring her closer to him, the height difference was amusing to him, her head reached right below his chest, she was so small and tiny, it was adorable and cute. She felt so warm and soft in his arms, but she also felt very breakable in his arms too. She was human, he had to be careful with his strength, he didn't want to accidentally hurt her. He may be a 1000 years old, but he never cared about his strength around other humans. But her, he could never hurt her, he was always so careful with her, even before, when she was just a small child, he was always careful with her. There will never be a time where he hurt her.

"Thank you Eric", it was soft, but of course he heard her. He smiled softly to himself. She trusted him, he knew she did, seeing as he could still feel her emotions. He could feel the trust that she had for him. "I will always be in your corner", he whispered softly into her hair. So she could be the only one to hear him. Because it was true, he will always be in her corner. No matter what, no matter where she went, no matter how much time goes by, she will always have him in her corner.

She will never be alone.

I know I'm making Godric out to be the bad guy right now and Eric the good guy. But hear me out, Godric still feels guilty about everything that he's done in his past, still feels like it was his fault for what happened to her and to her parents. He still feels that need to kill himself, he thinks that if she doesn't know the truth, they it'll be better for her. Seeing as she'll find her mate in a short few hours. But he won't be the bad guy for very long, I promise. And she won't be angry at him for very long, because honestly, they both care about each other. One feels like shit and thinks that they don't care about her, and the other thinks she deserves better and has a death wish. So yeah, a lot going on, but we all know what's going to happen in the next few chapters, it's going to be really dramatic and a lot of truth is going to come out. So word of warning, be prepared. And P.S yes, I know, I changed a lot from this scene, because well, they did end up hurting someone, and it was someone that Godric cared about, so he couldn't really defend the humans that hurt her. So of course I had to make this chapter dramatic, cause have you met me? I'm always dramatic! 😘 😽 💋)
